Was not feeling welcomed when I walked in. Had to ask if I sit down or wait. The 2 young ladies working seemed not happy to be there. Felt like I was bothering them. Had to ask to order 15 min. after waiting for a friend to come. Had to ask for coffee refill, seeing they were not offering. They were sitting and chatting together. No friendliness exact opposite. When refilled coffee, after we had to ask, no apology or smile just dumped coffee then set thermos down with a bang. Very disappointing.
Need customer service classes!
Owner did come up and talk and he was very nice and friendly. Wanted to say something but thought this would be better. Waitress giving me the evil eye asI was speaking to owner. We came in on Fruday, Dec. 6th in the morning.

Yesterday we were here. Forgot our waters, never delivered the clam chowder my husband ordered but weren’t billed for it either. Mind you there were only people at 3 tables, can’t imagine when it’s really busy…good food a five star! Service = 2 stars

They have breakfast and lunch. We went there before noon and they were done serving breakfast. Sandwiches were good .

A small group of us went for breakfast at opening time. Eggs were perfect, biscuits and gravy were delicious, hashbrowns just right. Kudos to the very pleasant owner/baker/chef.

I found this off Main Street cafe because of Groupon. What a find!!! Charming little cafe on Alder St with great sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. The roast beef is my favorite with a generous helping of beef in the sandwich. The soups are some of the best I have ever tasted and where this place really shines.. The vegetable beef is chocked full of beef and vegetables including three types of beans. The split pea with ham is thick, creamy, rich, and full bodied with a great ham flavor. The tomato basil is a thick creamy soup with a savory tomato flavor. He makes all the muffins, cookies, and pies himself. A friend of mine has a gluten allergy. She loved the gluten free bread used to make her sandwich. She said it was the best she had ever tasted. Many of the soups are gluten free too. The owner and his small staff of servers (2) are friendly and nice to deal with. I very highly recommend this wonderful little cafe and I have been back many times.

Had a very unique atmosphere, very closed in but open somehow? The sandwich was really good but I’ve also definitely had better

Went looking for a new place to eat close to the office. Stumbled on this little Gem.

My father and I will be coming here more often. The food was excellent. The flavors all balanced very well together.

I look forward to trying thier other offerings, as this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant is nice and quiet, theres a peaceful aura around the place. Clearly a small operation, but so good!
