The other Fish n chip place was packed. We asked about a to go order, it was going to be a long wait.
    So we tried Blue Buoy.
It was busy, but the waitress and hostess, were getting everybody served. My husband had oysters, I had clam chowder. Both were good.

  3. Jon Hewitt

This restaurant has become a mainstay of Westport. The owner is friendly and hires great staff. Even busy, the restaurant runs like a top. I will definitely be visiting every time I visit Westport.

First time eating here and we will definitely be back! Going to become regulars at this phenomenal place! We have traveled extensively and my husband grew up in South Texas, and hands down, this place has the best chicken fried steak! Oh my gosh, so good! And the eggs benedict was just as wonderful, this had a nice ham steak to it, plenty of hollandaise sauce and perfectly cooked eggs and the cinnamon roll was absolutely delicious! It was big enough for two people to share, warm flaky and so gooey goodness! Oh, my mouth is watering just thinking of all the delicious food! The service was excellent and our waitress was great!

I had the number 6, substituting hash browns for the biscuits. Fantastic, I ate the whole thing, and snatched a biscuit from my wife, too. Come hungry, leave happy.

  10. William Troxel

The food is fantastic. And my coffee cup was never empty. Great service.

We did a day drive to Westport for our first visit. We decided on Blue Buoy based on reviews and seeing it as we drove by. We were 2 for lunch. The restaurant sits directly across from the Marina of fishing vessels, so it has a great view. My wife had the lighter fair burger. She had it bun-less and it was less than exciting. First, the burger was hand formed but it was very thin and had little flavor. It came with two nice slices of tomato but the lettuce was limp and had some brown spots. There were no condiments on the burger but there was a generous cup of really good dill pickles. The plate was loaded with great fries. It may be the restaurant’s regular burger with a bun would be better.
I had a wonderful grilled sourdough ham and cheese sandwich. My lunch was wonderfully hot and tasty with so many hot great fries and I enjoyed it very much.
The server was wonderfully friendly with a big smile.

We love going here for breakfast! It’s our favorite place. They are very friendly, always with a smile and the plates are a good size. Try the Nick’s burrito. It’s amazing but make sure to split it with someone or take home the left overs.

The breakfast is delicious and worth the money. The amazing staff went above and beyond for my dad’s birthday breakfast. They put a candle in his omelet and even sang happy birthday. 😊

This is a late review, but I still remembered to leave it. The food was THAT GOOD and the service is the service from back in the day. You walk in and feel like family. You’re seated well, the waitress is attentive even with it being SLAMMED (and I can understand why). What’s even more impressive is that the OWNER, yes, the OWNER is equally hands on and will even have a conversation with you like an old friend. Every single time I visit my momma, I eat here. This is my food sanctuary and I’m so glad y’all are still around. Please keep up the OUTSTANDING customer service and amazing food. Can’t wait for it to hit my soul again soon. With love from Georgia

Dungeness crab sandwich and fries were sooooo delicious! The price was a bit too high. Everything “Dungeness” was $24.95/ea. Mimosas were $8 for a small glass. Service was great! Friendly and attentive. Try not to get a spot right next to the door. People coming in and out would prop the door open and it was difficult to enjoy the meal when my teeth were chattering. I was even in long johns, sweatshirt, sweats, and a beanie. The taste of the food though? 🏽*chef’s kiss*

While out thrift store shopping we decided to try Blue Bouy take out. Very friendly lady took my order for Fish & Chips and bowl of clam chowder to take back to the campground. When it was ready she brought it out to us at our truck and said here’s your fish& chips and cup of chowder. Cup? I ordered a bowl. She apologized, ran back in and delivered two bowls of chowder. The fish (cod) was flaky and tasty. The chowder was delicious and plenty of clams. Very good experience.

Any 3 yr old can put crab on a 3 egg omellette and smother with cheese….. I’m not sure how you could possibly get less flavor in a crab ommellete… these guys figured it out. Biggest culinary dissapointment ever… bar none. Now I’m going to grab some fresh live crabs and make one for myself…. correctly

A cute place right on the main drag with great views of the harbor, it’s got charming, maritime decorations. It was recommended to us by a local has one of the best places in town for lunch. I apologize for the quality of my photograph, as I could not wait to dig into my bowl of some of the best clam chowder I’ve ever had, and that includes shelters in Maine and Boston. (The drips on the plate were from me after I’d enthusiastically tucked in!) They do not skimp on the meat – it’s hearty! Turns out it’s a family recipe that’s nearly half a century old. It’s a winner! We also ordered a fish sandwich with coleslaw, and both were outstanding.

What really sets this place apart, however, is the service. The daughter and the granddaughter of the owner (family business!) both visited our table frequently, and were delightful and very helpful. They even helped us with recommendations and directions.

All in all, we are exceptionally pleased with our visit, and wish our stay in town was longer just so we could visit again!
