Fabulous food, great place, excellent service!
Pretty good. Tacos were all salty, sides were dynamite.
Ordered togo from door dash and it was still hot and perfect. The best carnitas ever and love the house made tortillas. All the salsas were so fresh and the flavors were amazing.
I had the fish and shrimp tacos a couple of months ago and haven’t been able to stop thinking about them. Going back this weekend and I cannot wait! So delicious!
Tacos de pescado so delicious everything also octopus tacos very taste definitely will come back
Cochinitos is our go-to! We love this place! The food is excellent (fun new tacos—the new scallop is awesome!) and classic street tacos with a gourmet touch. The margaritas are my favorite, hands-down. Everything is fresh and delicious. And the service is impeccable every time!!
You HAVE to come here!! This place is incredible, we had never been before and the guy helping us walked us through the menu and recommended the best taco options. Our favorites were the heritage duroc pork cheek carnitas tacos and the lamb merguez were another favorite!! You can’t go wrong with anything you order from the menu. Amazing drinks, service, and the churros to finish it off were incredible!!
This place is amazing! Went here for the first time yesterday with some friends and it was so busy but we still got in and ordered quickly. The drinks are good but the food is amazing! The pescado and the choriz and potato tacos were so great! Get the elite bowl for an appetizer!
The food was good, and the people bringing out the food are very friendly, but their seating setup is a mess. I’m sure it makes sense to them but we were placed at a single large table with two other parties and none of us were thrilled about that, especially when other tables were open. When we asked about moving to an open table, we were told that this is part of their plan and “sorry that doesn’t work for you”. The food and prices aren’t worth the hassle.
Wow, wish I lived closer to this place, incredibly thoughtful and creative menu, lamb/carne asada/ rock fish tacos were amazing. Please open a location near Seattle! Will be back.
Absolutely delicious. I love all the extra salsas and pickled vegetables. Every time we have gone it’s been amazing. My only complaint is they are so far from me and I can’t get to it more often. 😁 try the Karina bowl!!!
These people really know their way about hospitality! I am not one who likes self serve, stand in line to order places. Cochinito not only made that part enjoyable, but the drinks, food and service were exceptional. Tonight was our first time in, it was VERY busy, and every member of the team were on their toes, making success happen.
I think they have a real success here, in a spot in Downtown Spokane, where many have failed before.
This is not a Mexican restaurant, not even a taco restaurant. It is a place where you can get great flavors, satisfying portions, and terrific bevies too!
Ate here yesterday. Interesting set up. You wait in line and then order at the counter. They then assign you a table. The doors was Awesome!! Elote. Shrimp and carne asada tacos. Guac was awesome.
Outstanding cuisine. Great vibe and friendly staff. Way to go, Spokane!
Best food in Spokane hands down
The BEST street tacos in Spokane. Their birria tacos are second to none. The atmosphere is very welcoming and all the employees are really helpful/friendly. 10/10 recommend!
if i could do zero stars i would. didn’t know an order was a single taco and even then my two orders came there was no juice even in the cup and didn’t look appetizing at all. over priced and not worth it.
Great tasting , authentic food. Amazing atmosphere— Owners are so welcoming and fun to talk with. The overall vibe is perfect. One of our favorite spots in Spokane.
We stumbled across this place and stopped in because it looked inviting. Turned out to be some of the most amazing food we have ever tasted. And the staff and owner were incredible as well. I can’t say enough good things about this place.
Definitely try the octopus… Either in a taco or the insanely delicious salad … Trust me … Incredible.
Everything we tried was prepared perfectly, and the flavors were bright and happy. You can’t go wrong.
They call this a Mexican Restaurant? This place is complete trash. Very disappointed and will not be returning. Staff was very friendly but the food was literally cat food. Pozole had no flavor, the rice in Karinas bowl… trash. And what’s up with the pumpkin seed dip … trash
Wished I had dined in! Tried a couple of their tacos to go and I wanted more! We ordered the chicken wings,20 hr carne asada, chicken, and beef short ribs tacos. Next time I plan to venture and order the lamb merguez, pescado and octopus. Maybe next week? No complaints but parking was so hard to find not their fault.
We’ve been here both times we’ve visited from Salt Lake City. Just as good or better than other high end taco places I’ve been. Excellent meat prep with no shortcuts taken, well thought out vegetable pairings, tasteful seasoning. The cocktails are clearly done with care and skill. The 20 hour asada and short rib tacos are killer safe bets. The Diablo and blood orange margarita are impressive. The staff are kind- today we biked there with no bike locks (not intending to eat downtown). We left our 4 bikes outside keeping a close eye on them through the window, the staff noticed and offered up a more secure location to put our bikes unsolicited by us, and helped us get the bikes there. They and their neighbors (The Volstead Act) are both not messing around with their craft while also not being too hot on themselves- I saw no looking down on not so ‘hip’ folk. Respect on all fronts. Highly recommended.
So good, every time! Always something new to try. Drinks are on point, as well. Love the beans, queso fundito, fish tacos and the birria.
Great Taqueria in the heart of Downtown Spokane, the tacos are delicious and the drinks are good!
Unparalleled flavor
Absolutely unbelievable! I love tacos, and this is hands down the best I have ever had. My family was with me and we were their for lunch, it was so good we decided to come back for dinner and try and different round of everything. For lunch I had the 20 HR Carne, Prawn, Lamb, Pork Cheek, and Octopus. Every taco had unreal flavor and freshness. House made corn tortillas really set everything off.
An amazing assortment of sodas are available, as well as sensational margaritas.
I could go on forever, but please do yourself a favor and come here. Beyond expectations!
From out of town but went once in summer 2021 and the food was great. Went again spring 2022 and the food was still great (creative, fresh, and savory). Buttttttt…. the thing I am most impressed with was one of the employees saw there was a need for our party of 4 adults and 3 children and the employee went above and beyond in offering an unnecessary accommodation which showed the awareness and care this employee had for their guests. Thank you sooooo much! 🚲
We LOVE Cochinito!!
Get the Rock Fish!
Yummy margaritas!
Not your traditional taco’s but still a great spin to the wonderful world of tacos. The short rib was by far my favorite followed by the lamb then the carne asada. My wife preferred the lamb but unfortunately was not fond of the chorizo and potatoes. I would come back just to try the different varieties of their tacos.
Probably the best tacos in Spokane. Everything we ordered came out quickly and tasted as delicious as it looked.
I nearly shed tears because it was like eating a taco for the first time. This place takes it up so many notches, I don’t think I’ll ever eat a taco from anywhere else again. This place is unforgettable! Perfect portions, excellent cocktails, quick service, presentation beyond sharp. This place is unforgettable and my new favorite.
The tacos were exceptional, but our order took more than an hour to be served. Otherwise it would have received 5 stars. Pinto beans & rice were yummy too as were the chips, salsa, & pepito concoction. Definitely going back.
It was fantastic! The lamb taco was my favorite. Met the owner, he was super smart and very nice.
Got in the door, and was a bit worried by how busy it was. So glad we stayed! Got served a delicious drink while in line, and the food was absolutely incredible. Staff went above and beyond, can’t recommend this place enough. Superb place.
The best food I have ever experienced. The ceviche with ahi tuna was out of this world. Incredible. In my opinion it is much better than a shrimp ceviche. Everything had a unique flavor and tasted exquisite. We brought our 10 month old and we’re treated very hospitably!! I wish I could eat this on the daily. Thank you for the incredible food and service!!
We come here often & usually have only good things to say about it but last time we were there the older lady taking our order was pretty rude. We got 10 street tacos with 5 drinks and it was well over $100. We asked for another small taco shell for the leftover meat and the older lady wanted us to get back in line to pay for a soft shell. Maybe she was just having a really bad day but I couldn’t believe the customer service. The owner is awesome & does an incredible job. Very cool atmosphere and everything we’ve tried is very flavorful. The only negative is everything on the menu is fairly pricey, you don’t get very much food and some of the staff isn’t very friendly.
Best tacos ever!
The food was great, kind of expensive though. Unfortunately the customer service was not a pleasant experience.
Loved every bite of my meal.
If I could award 10 stars, I would! The food, atmosphere & service were top notch. I love when an establishment treats you like you are a guest in their home. From drinks while you are waiting in line to helpful directions to water stations and changing tables for infants, we never had to ask, everything was offered. Thank you so much for an enjoyable experience. Can not wait for the Hayden location!
I forgot to take pics of the food but it was phenomenal. We had the pescado & carne asada tacos with micheladas & their house ale made at a local brewery. I ordered the elote bowl & pozole to go for dinner tonight, im looking forward to it!!
Unbelievable food and service. Authentic Mexican cuisine and a great atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this establishment in downtown Spokane!
Amazing food. Worth the wait.
Excellent adventurous tacos! Be open to trying them all…a variety of flavors! Loved the octopus the most! Even the chips and salsas are amazing! These guys do it well!
I always love trying new tacos here! Cafeteria style makes lunch during the week quick & easy.
You’ve never had a better taco.
Wow! Now those are tacos!
The food was tasty, but portions are small and you have to place your order before you can sit at a table.
When you walk in you stand in line and have to order and pay at the bar, including tip for the upcoming service. You then pickup your order number and proceed to get your own utensils and water and find an open table to sit. Eventually the food comes, that is if you realize that you have to place your order number on the metal holder on the table, otherwise your server takes the food on a tour around the bar not sure what to do with it. Also that moment is the last time you see your server.
I got the octopus taco which from my experience was too chewy, not what I expected. On the other hand, the lamb taco was good. The taco bawl was good too as well as the horchata barracha, though it was small of a portion.
If you’re looking for Mexican Food, this is not the place to go. I was very disappointed in the food experience because I thought it would be more authentic by the effort put into the appearance of the restaurant. For those of you who don’t know, they are Día De Los Muertos themed (or so it seems like it).
I must admit if the food wasn’t suppose to be “Mexican food”, my personal experience would have been better because the food didn’t taste bad.
Note, everything is super expensive. I got literally 1 cup of horchata for 3.50.
Justin, one of the owners is super welcoming and friendly on EVERY visit. The best fresh margarita in town. And their tacos are the BOMB. A little spendy but you get what you pay for: excellent food and top shelf service.
After spending the last 6 months in LA I was a little skeptical of this place. However I was dead wrong to be like that. Seriously probably some of the best tacos I have had. The lamb, and the mushroom tacos where magical. The chorizo and asada was everything I wanted and more.
AMAZING! Nothing more to say.
Great tacos but pretty expensive for what you get.
Hands down best tacos in town!!
Out of this WORLD tacos. I could eat four of the 20 hour carne asadas and be perfectly happy. Pickled vegetables are a great side.
Everyone here goes out of their way to let you try a homemade frescas, find a seat during busy times, and answer menu questions. This is the kind of food I didn’t know could exist in Spokane. Thanks for the YUM!
Very good high end take on Mexican.
SUPER good food – the chips are UH-MAZING! Tacos were so yummy and fresh. Drinks were awesome, ambience was perfect. Def a place we’ll visit when we’re in town !
AMAZING tacos!! Get the birria or carne asada – you won’t be disappointed!
It was okay, but locals thinks it’s mexican food is the best. They need to travel down to the southwest!!
Bomb as hell like usual! Great service & clean even during hoopfest. Highly recommend any time!
Hands down the best tacos I’ve ever had. Great friendly service and some tasty cocktails.
The flow in and out to order is a bit weird. I wasn’t initially sure if we sst down snd had a waiter or what. The food is adequate and is priced acceptable for the quality.
Friendly service, delicious tacos!
The food is wonderful and so was the margarita… I love this place
Amazing experience!! Food is out of this world. Highly recommend!!
Stopped here while we were visiting family and it was a great experience. Owner was very friendly and helpful when it came to the menu. Also great food!
Ist time there. Had great tacos, different types.will definitely be back soon.
I saw someone describe the tacos as adventurous in another review and i think they were spot on. I had a lamb taco and one with strawberries on it. Both were delicious and unlike any taco i have ever tasted. Not the cheapest place to eat and probably not the quickest, but still a place you definitely don’t want to miss.
Fresh handmade tortillas everybody looking for fresh Mexican food. Someone said this isn’t Mexican in a review I read and they were wrong. This is food made by someone who understands ingredients and puts out gourmet tacos for a good price. You can go there on Taco Tuesday and get 3 tacos for $12 that will blow your mouth and mind figuring out what genius decided to make these food bombs in your mouth. I tried the lamb and fish taco. Look at the ingredients in the menu. They exponentially combine to a different level than typical tacos. I appreciate the chef’s creative mind. I want to add that they have specials and I am sad to miss their Valeriana risotto special. I hope they add it again for my next visit.
The food was fantastic! I wish they sold the tomatillo salsa they offer at the table – I could drink that stuff!
Really tasty tacos, interesting flavours (Meringuez lamb and rhubarb!) and great value for the food. Margaritas were also good, though, honestly skip dessert. The churros were a little over done and the special (upside down pina colada cake) was a little too dense.
This place should change its name to La Iglesia because having their tacos is a religious experience! We had 5 different types of tacos, and they were all amazing. The lamb merguez is the most amazing combo of spicy-meaty-goat cheesy that I’ve ever had. The squid tacos were kissed with paprika in such a way that you enjoyed every morsel. But the real winner was the calamari taco with rhubarb salsa.
I know. It sounds crazy
But you have to try it. Now! Go order one, eat it, and you will see what I’m talking about. It is crispy. It is tart. It is meaty. It is….just amazing. When I die, I want to be wrapped up in a life-sized calamari taco like this – that’s how good it is.
Love this place! Awesome fresh tacos & margaritas. Amazing guacamole & chips are the bomb!
I have become addicted to there wings. Have been back multiple times. This is one of my new favorite places in Spokane. Come and try it for yourself. The food is great and the staff are very nice!
Happened upon this place. Incredible food, super friendly and helpful staff, great drinks. 6 stars out of 5!
Food was okay. What made the experience subpar was the service. We encountered two female employees that were dissatisfied with the fact that we had not decided what we wanted to eat in two minutes of arriving in the restaurant, eyes rolling and everything. The person that brought our food to the table was okay and the owner was friendly.
Oh my lord just go get these tacos as soon as you possibly can. And a margarita.
Have wanted to try this place for a long time. Fun atmosphere and interesting combinations for tacos. I had the pork loin and the carne asada with ceviche appetizer. I also ordered the horchata borracho which was divine. While the food was unique it was missing something in the corn tortillas. I’d go again with friends, but probably won’t for myself.
Best in Spokane ! Very happy to go here , I once had a bad experience with service and the manager totally made it up to me by sending me a gift card , this is the way things should be handled and it definitely made us feel better about going back. Every experience since then has been fantastic. Food is always good and fresh, price is fantastic , and I love the kids options are healthy and cheap
Food is extremely tasteful and drinks are delicious. A little on the high price for a taco but worth it.
We are here in an effort to find new and interesting eats. They did not disappoint. The food was innovative and fun. The prices would low enough to encourage you to choose at least one new flavor combination. They did seem to have to keep explaining to people that they couldn’t grab a table until they had placed an order so they might need to address that in a different way. The staff loved being there and the overall vibe was great. Huge mix of guests which is always a great sign you are doing things well. Definitely recommend
This taqueria was excellent. Stopped by for dinner and ordered the tacos, octopus, and a corn based side dish. All of them were flavorful, and I would come back for another meal.
Hands down best tacos in Spokane. Great atmosphere and would definitely recommend to anyone.
Tacos are unique, full of flavor. Many options. Who knew mushroom and fish tacos were so incredible!!! Busy place. Plan to stand in line to place an order.
Stunning. Inventive. Mindfully Sourced. Mind blowing use of ingredients.
Vegan, vegetarian, paleo, carnivore… it’s for you!
Go, go there now!!!
Stopped by here for lunch. Very solid tacos and queso. Would love to see this place get a few tortas on the menu.
This place is great! The lamb tacos are fantastic. The pork cheek was super porky! The fish was light and the other tacos over powered it, but it was a good fish taco. I should have had it before the other two. The octopus starter was scrumptious!!
I really like that we order and pay for everything upfront and the drinks are ready for you by the time you pay. I appreciate logisitical efficiency.
Great tacos! Especially enjoyed the lamb sausage one. Service was very quick and staff were super friendly.
The food is ok. Very small and crowded. Don’t recommend this for groups more than 3 or 4 people.
Top notch Mexican street tacos and drinks served here. You generally will pay a bit more than typical for street tacos but what you lose in quantity is gained back twofold in quality. They truly go the extra mile and you wont regret spending the extra dollar or two on these top notch tacos. Highly recommended!
Yum! Pork belly and Asada tacos! Really good and super filling.
Excelent service, very good food and good ambiance. The pork belly tacos were superb. Good drinks. Will definitely recommend.
Both of these salsas are very visually unappealing. The rice and beans had no flavor and the corn tortillas were so thick they were wet. We always look forward to good Mexican food, but this did not hit the mark. The chips were good and the margaritas wasn’t bad, but there was more ice than margaritas.
Amazing Mexican food. Great vibe to. A bit pricy but worth it.
Hidden Gem…Service and Food was beyond amazing. I would pay way more for the type of food they serve here!!
Also ordered two tacos, but wanted to highlight this juicy drinks, tastes good! (For me) Fresh and they let you try it first!
Food and atmosphere were great. Definitely recommend the prickly pear margarita and the 20 hour Carne asada.
Wow what a great taco place! Everything was very good, and portion sizes are perfect, not humungous. Their aguas frescas are tasty and unique. We’ll be back.
Good Mexican food and best Margarita ever!
I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. I’m glad I did, the pork belly tacos were amazing. Prickly pear margarita was delicious as well.
If you’re looking for a new place, this is it! Wow! Every time I go here it is just delicious!
Ask questions when you order.
The food was terrific and plenty. The service was prompt and courteous. Great place for a casual meal.
Great tacos and chips. Came here on recommendation from our AirBnB and loved it. One of the best margaritas were ever had too.
Fantastic atmosphere here – the tacos are incredible and loads of gluten free options. Blood orange margarita is also a must have. Service was great – friendly, quick and very knowledgeable of all the menu options. Prices are reasonable as well – our party had a great time!
My son and I had a great time here. The atmosphere was wonderful. The art deco was amazing. And the food… magnifico.
Impressed. While not traditional the tacos have insane flavor. The shrimp tacos had pomegranate on it?! I never would have put it together on my own but dang!! So good. Ribeye, asada, and pork belly all equally bomb.
If I lived in Spokane I would come here all the time. Food was delicious. There’s so many other things on the menu that I want to try.
So good! Everything had so much delicious depth of flavor.. Elote bowl to start then 4 tacos – lamb merguez; beer batter fish; carne asada; pork belly. All were perfect!
This is quickly becoming my favorite place to eat in Spokane. I lived in Tucson for many years and I thought I knew what good Tacos were. This place is the winner in my book.
Great little taco place. Will go there again. Bought the hat.
Occasionally they will do a dinner pairing with a brewery or distillery. Don’t miss out on the best food and drink pairings you will experience!
This place is amazing I had four tacos and the chips and salsa the tacos were to die for I really liked the spicy soup that they had for dipping! We showed up late and the staff was super helpful and made us feel welcome like we were old friends coming over to hang out. By the time we finished it was well past closing and we were enjoying the atmosphere of the staff as they cleaned and put the place up for the night. We were never rushed dropped a second tip on the way because of the excellent service and food!! Best tacos I have had hands down!!
The margaritas, the salsas, the tacos and churros w/dip are amazing, I love going here!
Tacos are great, usually. The asada tasted like it was rolled in salt. But the pork cheek was yummy.
We didn’t have any food, it smells really good in there so don’t get me wrong but they have a house Mexican lager that’s brewed only for them and it’s just strong and so smooth. A $7 dollar beer I just can’t get enough of.
I am actually sitting in this gem, while writing this review. Super chill staff, cool vibe, and THE best pork belly tacos/chips & salsa I have ever had! I am in Spokane on business, but I am guessing this is a local fav!
Fusion Mexican is that even a thing ?
All items were good and a must try place in Spokane.
Birria was very very good definitely do try
The food here is great and has brought me back three times. This time I had the pork belly tacos and loved them. The Tacos are juicy and full of seasoned meat, the chips are warm and the bowls are nicely crafted. My only point of friction is that the location, at night has a lot of transients roaming around.
The street tacos were fantastic. Service was quick and the restaurant had a great atmosphere.
Amazing tacos, and really like their beer too. The staff is always incredibly friendly. I must say though, they charge $8 for a 12oz beer, which is absolutely insane.
