My wife and I moved here from D.C. and we SO appreciate the home feel of Fresh Soul. Stellar service and the finest soul food I’ve had here. Mr. Brown is doing a phenomenal job with the youth in his workshop. It shows clearly in their work ethic. Keep up the awesome work, y’all! (I Don’t even use that word)
The ribs were the best I’ve had in the area. The service was even better…… If that’s even possible. Excellent all around!! I recommend to anyone looking for a good meal and very hospitable people. Check their hours though! They are a family owned business and they go on vacation and such……. Thanks so much!!!! We’ll certainly be back again soon!!!
Great service and wonderful food, will be coming back regularly.
Mmmmm…delicious southern style beef ribs, fried chicken with all the fixins served with a desire to assure total customer satisfaction.
Thank you for a very good meal loved the mac and cheese greens were very good ribs outstanding
Cant say enough about this jewel. Amazing food – amazing service. Who knew Spokane was such a Soul Food Mecca?
Try it! You will not be dissapointed!
I love what this place stands for. The prices were slightly high in my opinion but I was happy to pay. The workers are trained well and the management kills it. Eat here!
The staff is very friendly. I love the hot links sandwiches there. We ate chicken from the restaurant and it melted in my mouth. Great place to eat.
Waited an hour for my order which came cold. The owner was raising his voice to the kids and all the customers could hear him. When they realized I wasn’t happy, then I was asked 5 times by 5 different people how my order was. As I walked out the door, the owner was walking out right behind me asking how was the food. His attitude and the way he talked to the staff and customers was totally unprofessional. He even asked how was the food from across the room instead of walking to the table to address us.
Mr Brown and the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I had dinner there with my grandchildren. The children’s chicken strips are huge and a very good value. I had the fried fish basket. It wasn’t my favorite but they made up for it by giving my grandkids free ice cream for dessert. We will definitely be coming back to try it again!
Delicious food and great friendly atmosphere for a neighborhood restaurant. Spokane is blessed with a variety of cuisine. Definitely going back.
Tasty fish, but I would have preferred less BBQ sauce on my ribs. Very friendly staff and the restaurant is very clean. Always makes a great lunch stop, but it’s pricey.
they have the best soul food i’ve ever had. one of the best food in general. my favorite is the chicken. it was so flavorful
I don’t really review many things, but I can’t believe that this place has anything less than 5 star reviews. Food was fantastic and everyone was extremely friendly. What else do you need.
Food was great. Chicken was juicy and tasty, collard greens were out of this world, red beans and rice delicious, potato salad was very good, rib sandwich was also very good, fried green tomatoes were also out of this world! The only disappointment was no Mac and cheese available….oh well hopefully next time??
Great food, Great experience. The atmosphere was very welcoming, the staff here treated everyone good. Will be back here soon!
The food was fantastic and what they do for the community is even better. Worth every penny.
Awesome food and great to see them training kids for the world. Good job, y’all. That catfish was 5 star… so was the corn bread… and the beans and rice…. and the tea… Keep up the great work in the community.
The food is great and authentic with the chefs own family twist in the flavors the staff are very nice and polite they’re young look like volunteers or trainees which you have to be patient with My suggestion is call and then pick the food up yourself PS call in early they seem to run out of food like I said that’s authentic and it’s good.
Love this restaurant! Food is exceptional and service is delightful. Feed your stomach and your soul.
Awesome, if I could describe the atmosphere, the owners, the food and the culture in one word it’s awesome. Everytime I have been the food has been nothing less then phenomenal and the service is top teir, they are friendly and efficient and make you feel right at home. I’d recommend the seafood gumbo they serve on the first Saturday of every month or their number 7 combo!
I grew up in the south, this place reminds me of home. Hands down best ribs in Spokane. Fried chicken isn’t weighed down with loads of batter and it’s seasoned all the way through. Potato salad as good as mom’s if not better. Please don’t tell my mom. Staff was friendly and efficient plus there mission is to help the community and youth. I would give them 10 stars.
I drive past this restaurant alot with my job, and my wife and i finally came in for dinner. The food was OUTSTANDING! My wife had the catfish & red beans & rice. I had the ribs, with pork & beans. The meat on my ribs literally fell off the bone. The bbq sauce they used has the perfect combination of sweet, smoky & tangy flavor. The host, & our waitress were so polite, and made sure we were satisfied. Highly recommended! We shall be back!!👍👍👍
This is by far the best place in town to get a nice homey southern meal! I always recommend this restaurant to all of my family and friends when they visit and will continue to do so. The food is delicious and the staff is extremely attentive.
So glad I found Fresh Soule for lunch. The food and staff were fantastic. Highly recommend! I was also happy to donate to help support their work in the community.
This is an amazing place! Not only is the food great, the owner is super involved with the community. Check out the youth program they run. Getting back to the food… Fried green tomatoes have a nicely seasoned coating. My husband enjoyed the catfish. I was skeptical, but after a bite, yes, I would order it next time! I also can’t wait for peach cobbler season!! We went on a Friday to get the macaroni and cheese, it was good too. Don’t get it if you expect velveeta cheese. This is more of a pasta bake than a cheese sauce. Which caught me off guard, bringing back nice memories of childhood. I had the pork sandwich and it was well portioned to go with everything else we ordered. The kids working were all very friendly. Wonderful experience! If you’ve never been, you are in for a treat. This post is during the summer, so their patio was open.
Great food, great service and spotless kitchen! Conversation and a trip down my memory lane to foods I love. Thank you! See you again soon!
Food was awesome and service was great 😎 enjoyed the taste of soul
A great experience and excited that they are close to home. Amazing family owned and operated restaurant. Everything was great that I had and everyone else seemed happy. Fried chicken was very good but the star were the ribs. Great sauce and beyond tender.
Everyone is super friendly, very nice and relaxing environment. Delicious food reasonable prices staff are super sweet
5 star food, 5 star people, great place to grab lunch and enjoy life. The food was absolutely perfect.
Enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service. It was our 1st time going there and we will be back.
Amazing food, I had Catfish. Service was excellent. Great staff. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Definitely does not taste as good as the pictures look. Very disappointing in the Mac and cheese it was very dry, hard and not cheesy at all. Just so sad I wanted to love it so bad but it just wasn’t good….
I’m sitting here with a smile on my face and a song in my heart BECAUSE I just had the best taste of home I could ever find, and now that I know Fresh Soul is here, I get to come back A LOT!
Mr. Brown, THANK YOU! I haven’t had collard greens that good since my last trip through Atlanta GA, and that’s a fact!
Those beans and rice… absolutely perfect! My mouth was convinced that I was having lunch in Nawlins! For a minute, as I shut my eyes, I could almost smell the bayou. I’m literally so happy I’m fighting back tears.
Such a great blessing to meet you and also learn about the good work you do for our community and our kids.
Ladies and gentlemen please, you must get some refreshment for your souls.
I’m convinced that if everyone in the Spokane area were to visit with Mr. Brown and enjoy the blessings of his and his teams talents, that this community would truly be a better place. We’d all be so happy and even road construction would seem like a pleasure.
I can’t wait to come here again, and the best part will be to bring a friend so I can see their face when they eat this amazing soul food and then they will know why I love to remember my roots.
All the very best to you Mr. Brown.
May God continue to bless you and employ you for His glory.
The ribs were tender and juicy. Fall of the bone delicious. The greens were perfect. Going back for gumbo soon! Definitely the best southern restaurant in town.
Went there and the ribs were like so tough like shoe souls. Went to pay and the lady on the till. Got rude with me. Had to tell her the tip was on the table. If you want really good ribs. Go to the Outlaw really good food.
