I love this place! Yeah sure Togo take 45 minutes some days but that’s how you know it’s great! Warm BBQ pork is a must, oranges chicken is spectacular. It sure ain’t Costco fake Chinese food

There have been times where the food is really good. I think Covid has really hit them hard with staffing and the food has really suffered. My last order had dead gnats in the wonton soup. Imagine sipping hot soup,, enjoying the taste of hot celery and water and there’s gnats right in line of sight. It was so gross.. The rest of the food was either overcooked on the outside and cold on the inside or hard. It was so bad. I have been unable to get through to ask for a refund. And at this point it was simply a $38 lesson/fine to stop eating there.

Last night we ordered takeout for the first time from Golden Phoenix and we’re not impressed at all. My husband got cashew chicken and I got pork chow mein which neither dinner had any flavor. This was a real disappointment for the both of us especially for th e price we paid.

Me and my wife recently discovered this spot and its our new favorite place to go to. The gentleman upfront was very accommodating and made some excellent recommendations. Some of the highlights is the warm bbq pork no one does it like them. Orange chicken full of flavor and the crab fired rice make sure you get that spicy

This was my first time trying Golden Phoenix. I had high hopes based on the many good reviews. I did see the bad ones that mentioned dry chicken but I gave it a try. I absolutely LOVED the shrimp fried rice. The Crispy Orange Chicken breading had great flavor but the chicken itself was bone dry. The veggie chow mein was disappointing, it had a slimy texture and it had a weird odor and flavor. I couldn’t eat it. I am someone who doesn’t usually leave reviews at all much less a bad one. I hope they will see this and do better because their food is expensive and currently not worth the money based on quality of the food.

Been eating here since we moved to Covington August 2022. Food was great, a little pricey but most Chinese food is these days. However last couple visits food was lacking quantity and quality. Tonight was our last night after we order over $60 worth of food, was missing and entree and when we tried to come pick it up they said we didn’t order it. Then why is our total $13 (amount of the entree) more than it should be if we ordered what they said. Missing food, won’t replace it and we tipped. 🙄🙄

I used to love this restaurant but the last 3 times the food was not good. This last last time the shrimp fried rice had burnt eggs and over cook rice.

Awhile ago this food seemed way better. I spent 15$ for some sesame chicken and it was just terrible. Really over cooked and hard as a rock. Searched through it looking for anything i could eat. Turns out half of my order of meat was trash. Start trying to chew it at all and string pieces hard as a rock would get stuck in your teeth and not be chewable.

Very disappointing. Took and hour through DD. Ordered the sweet and sour chicken and black bean prawn combo. Got three pieces of chicken(and the ss chicken was what I really wanted) and 6 prawns and a lot of onions and peppers. The helping of fried rice was fine but everything tasted mediocre at best. Waste of 16 bucks for the small amount of food.

Always love this childhood restaurant and appreciate all the effort that goes in this business. The only downside is
the phone lines is normally always busy especially during the weekends. Be prepared for 45 minute waits!

I ordered:
Ramen Noodle Soup (rating 0/10)
Seafood Chow Mein (rating 5/10)
Moo Shu Chicken (rating 7/10)
The Ramen Noodle Soup was the worst restaurant Ramen I’ve ever had, and I’ve ordered a LOT of Ramen. Imagine $1 Top Ramen with a few sliced BBQ pork strips on top, and yes, they used the entire “flavor” packet.
The Seafood Chow Mein was pretty mediocre, a little too much sauce and the sauce was a little too salty.
The Moo Shu was solid, not the best I’ve had, but not the worst. I’d order it again if I wanted to stay local.
**To Golden Phoenix – I’m sure when you started this restaurant you had hopes and dreams of bringing quality Chinese food to a small town and in the beginning everything was indeed “golden”. Somewhere along the line, I’d assume gradually over the years, you just gave up trying – either due to customer complaints, or the results of getting through COVID and shutting down your dining room. Either way, please try to find that spark of life again and renew your vigor in preparing marvelous dishes for us patrons. We are waiting for your awakening once more.**
