We went with friends already familiar with the mill and it’s restaurant. They have a no price menu, and the food is very good. We were allowed to go on an unguided tour of the mill which has much of it’s mechanisms and structure intact – full of wooden hand made chutes and augers. The large water flume pipe is disconnected in the basement, but it is still there, the water powered motor, and the large belts and pulleys – totally amazing.
There is a large collection of film cameras on the first floor- thousands of different models – the largest I’ve ever seen

We visited here based on reviews and we are so glad we went! Wow, what a wonderful place. The food was plentiful and service was great. We had such a great time wandering around the mill. We loved the historical information on the old equipment. Truly a gem to see and experience.

Absolutely the best around… homemade entrees & pie for dessert, not to mention a very popular community meeting place. My highest recommendation, but be sure to call ahead for reservations.

A unique building! A glimpse of how life was 100ish years ago. Anyone passing through on 12 that doesn’t stop in has missed a slice of Americana!

  18. Jayne Edens

Such history. Fun to go through. Well worth the drive. Make sure you have several hours to spend if you enjoy looking at olds processing machinery and artifacts from the process. The meal was excellent also. Very friendly atmosphere.

Historical flour mill with excellent self guided tour of the building and museum. Large camera collection. Sandwiches are tasty and very nice presentation. A location with a Christian mission.

This is a wonderful old mill converted to a restaurant. Jon is a wonderful host and his wife is a great cook. It is truly a delight. I would highly recommend visiting touring and eating at the Pataha Flour Mill if you are in the area.

The Pataha flour mill, simply put, is fantamassupcredible. Because fantastic, amazing, super, and incredible don’t do it justice on their own. The owners (VanVogts) are good friends of mine, they’re amazingly friendly and love what they do at the mill. The food they make is exceptional, and quite filling. The mill itself is nothing to be passed up, taking a walk through and checking out the old machinery, the catwalks, reading what machine did what job, and the ins and outs of it all is actually very fun. Little side note: the Pataha flour Mills XXX brand flour was actually featured in early Looney tunes cartoons. They even have a picture of bugs bunny I think it was holding a bag of their XXX brand flour. If you’re driving through, in a hurry or not, I would very highly recommend stopping in and saying hi to the VanVogts. Tell them Shane sent you.
