Pick-Quick has always been take out only.. been going there since mid sixties.. building is on a large lot with grass and picnic tables..closes every winter..opens Feb first.. worth the wait.. best burger,fries,menu in pierce county.. always interesting to talk to people waiting for their order and hear how far they drive for a Pick-Quick Burger 🤠

Growing up in LA, I always get the “in n’ out” cravings. Not only does this place satisfy it, but tops it as well! The burgers are on point and the fries are next level. If you love west coast burgers, a trip here is necessary.
Exactly what burgers, fries and shakes should taste like. OMG! So good! Their sundaes are fantastic too. Just went by today for late lunch. Still fantastic. First of all, it’s cash only. 🚩 No one is going to read the little cash only sign in the bottom corner. Second of all, this is the hot dog I got…. 🤢 I get it was busy but at-least make it look decent. The one star is for the couple behind me that offered to pay for my food since I only had card.

As truck driver’s from New Mexico we have a few favorite places we like to stop and eat. This is one place we love to stop for some really good comfort food. Very friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Nice clean seating area. cash only.

It’s a classic drive-in burger shack with a few twists like a veggie patty burger and malts made with real ingredients. I had the fresh banana malt and it went perfectly with the crispy fries. Expect quick service and great prices – cash only.
I went in spring and the outside was decorated with lilies in bloom. They have a grassy area nearby with a bunch of picnic tables. The scenery is pleasant except for cars speeding along highway 99.
Nostalgia experience, not Mega Corp, and fries are made from potatoes and cut on site. Beautiful garden, bulbs in spring and picnic tables.
Been meaning to try out this place for a while so we made a special trip. It was between lunch and dinner. We’re surprised there was still a line so obviously very popular. Outdoor seating on picnic benches. Place is kept neat and clean despite being in a rough neighborhood. Watch out for the vagrants! One briefly accosted my gf when I went to get our food. Fortunately she walked over closer to the stand and the jerk went away.
Ordered double cheeseburger, two regular cheeseburgers, no tomatoes and onions and 1 french fry. Burgers cooked well and flavorful. Thin patties…which we like but overall burger is kinda small. Toasted buns and crisp dill pickles are a nice finish but could use some crunch from lettuce. Unfortunately they don’t offer lettuce as a topping. LOOOVE the homemade “bowling alley style” fries. That alone made it worth the experience.
I’d say overall if you’re in the mood for a burger and in area, stop by. Otherwise wouldn’t make a special trip.
Recommend: In & Out Burger anywhere south of Oregon and Burger Landing in Port Hadlock, WA. Those ARE worth the trip!

Great mom and pop old fashioned hamburger stand! Milk shakes are incredible… Mtn blackberry is our fav so far!!!

Lovely little burger shack. Burger was average. Fries were great while still hot. Nice picnic tables in back for good weather. Road noise is pretty grim. Staff were very nice and I’d sure be loyal if I lived nearby.

We have been going to Pick Quick for years and go out of our way to stop but no more. The fries were dark brown, greasy and the grease should have been changed long ago. The bottom bun on my cheeseburger looked like it had sat in water (not kidding) so I removed the soggy mess. Is there a new owner?
Great burgers and amazing fries. It’s an excellent reason for a good walk from the truck stop. Friendly service. Food was hot and fresh and the picnic tables were so nice, in a grassy area, with excellent shade trees.
Don’t miss this gem.
It takes me about an hour to drive here just to get a cheese burger, fries, and a malt. That makes it a 2 and a half hour trip… I come a few times a year 😁

The 1/4lb swiss burger was just okay. Although it was missing lettuce, and I love a lot of lettuce on my burger. Hamburgers are my favorite food! A good burger has to have the basic components, great meat flavor, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, dill pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, optional Swiss cheese. And cooked Medium with a little pink. It’s hard to mess up!! The fry’s on the other hand, for me did not rate a star. I am spoiled by a different establishment whose name starts with Red R, and their fry’s are bottomless, but their onion rings are to die for! Pick-Quick does live up to their name. Go on their web site for their menu ahead of time to make the ‘Quick-Pick’ before you order at the window. The highlight to my meal was, the black berry shake. It scored 6 stars!! Well done on that.
If you’re looking for the best cheeseburger of your life then you need to go to pick-quick. Not only are their burgers next level but they have delicious home made style fries and a pretty good shake/malt selection. Every time I’m driving down I-5 and happen to pass pick-quick I stop and get a burger weather I’m hungry or not. Yes, they’re that good!! Only negative thing I can say is they’re a cash only establishment so make sure you come prepared.

The food is great and the outside eating area make a great summer night diner. The parking is tight but it worth the effort. The new Swiss burgers definitely worth giving a try.

Been coming here for 35 years. It’s still good. Not sure why after all this time they can’t handle a credit or debit card. The raised prices sure can support a 2.5% fee ( or even out that on the card user). The one thing I don’t understand is that this locations food is great, but the two franchises ( auburn and Seattle) are allowed to make things totally different. It’s like going to a McDonald’s and getting Burger King. I don’t get it.

Run the whole place on a busy Saturday. Today, 7 employees jammed in the kitchen. What changed? Is this why the prices nearly doubled in the last 10 years? I’ll keep coming, but not as often. Come on guys. Keep it simple and also straighten out your franchise partner. You spent a zillion years perfecting your food and process. Don’t let them screw it up.

This is the place of wonderful summer time memories! They are open spring through fall and they are worth the wait. Family operated with lots of smiles I stand in line, their is always a line, anxiously awaiting my turn to order. Burgers are freshly made and French fries are hand cut. They even have real Milkshakes!! Make sure you have time to wait as the lines can be long. That gives you time to enjoy the outside seating area. Enjoy
Walk up and cash only. I had a triple cheeseburger and it was really good. The best part was the big slice of onion they put on it. Fries were soggy and not enough salt. I would go back for the burger and maybe a different side.

Burgers are nothing special, shakes are good (have a lot of flavors) except I ordered orange shake and received Oreo, but it was a nice day, so a lot of people, and expect a bit of a wait.
The best cheeseburger, period. Great people, and the fresh cut fries are wonderful. Parking is easy and the picnic benches out back are spotless and peaceful. Cash only. This place is a treasure.
BEST MILKSHAKES IN TACOMA!! The hot fudge milkshake is everything you want a chocolate milkshake to be. The marshmallow, butterscotch, and root beer are also awesome! One time, the ‘special’ was a cinnamon roll shake (imagine Cinnabon in a cup), it was the best milkshake I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!!
Such a fun little burger shack. Cash only, of course, but good food (especially the fresh cut fries and the shakes!) and fast service. Don’t let the old shabby exterior fool you. Sit under a tree and chow down on some inexpensive grub.

Funky little classic burger shack with fresh cut fries. Burger patties are on the smaller side, so if you’re at all hungry, a triple is probably the way to go. Burgers come with everything, including a large slab of raw onion. Easy to remove Always a wait. Cute little back park like seating area with picnic tables. Blue collar area near the Port of Tacoma. Pick Quick has been a go to since I was a kid. Their burgers and fries are always delicious and my go to shake is root beer. I love sitting at the picnic tables under the big tree and looking at all the flowers.

This is an old time burger and shake place with outdoor seating and a really cool ’50’s burger drive thru building and sign. The burgers are delicious and the shake are outta sight! It gets pretty busy and they only have two registers, so get there early or mid day. It’s one of my favorite places to get a burger in Tacoma.

I have been to the one in Seattle, it was pretty good. So I had the same expectations for this one…the burgers were good, and so was my grilled cheese, but the fries were badly overcooked. Like really really overcooked. So I gave them three stars for that for food. I have heard this location is supposed to be the best, so I will try them once more. They did have really good milkshakes too.
The burgers are so thin you can literally see through them. Far thinner than a McDouble. The chili in the fries was disgusting… like canned nasty taste. The fries were just flavorless and limp. The lady at the window was very nice. My wife took a couple bites and tossed it..
Good food at fair price…. And pretty fast…
You can tast the quality and care that goes into the food, milkshakes are thick and creamy, highly recommend the bacon cheese burger.
