Absolutely wonderful place. We visited each time we are in town the staff is top notch!
The food was in large quantities and fair priced. Service was average for a place that was not very busy when we got there. It was a place that locals like to visit.
Still the best rib eye and halibut around. The special tonight was King Crab legs for a limited time. I have been eating there for years with no plans to change. EXCELLENT!!!
Fish and chips were super soggy, no crisp to them at all. Fries were undercooked. Club sandwich was sub par at best. I have 2 stars because the service was decent.
Food, staff and atmosphere were great. Atmosphere was comfortable and clean. Service could be a little faster. But all together we liked it and would eat there again.
My large taco salad was delicious the next day
Friendly staff, good food and decent prices on drinks. Fish and chips are a must! Kid friendly dinner…
Always great food the Owner is a treat if she happens to be the one to help you. I highly recommend trying this place once and you will be a regular!
We love it here! We love the atmosphere, we love the people, that was the food– I can’t recommend this place enough! Prices are reasonable, they have the best fried clams that I’ve ever had, and I always get their club sandwich because it’s definitely in my top five. Nothing we’ve ever had there has disappointed, and we’ve been quite a few times. They have a decent selection of different types of foods, but most of it is typical pub fare. So that is my along the lines of American dinner dining. None of it has been unimpressive, though. I really can’t wait to go back for those clams! They’re amazing!
Great place. Has a country home feel. Food was great and service was wonderful and nice and friendly place. Thank you
It’s a salty dog is one of my favorite places to go.
It’s less than 10 miles away, nice little drive.
The owners are really great folks they have quality food and attentive to the customers.
they have really great wings sometimes I go there just for wings and a beer. I love their hamburgers but you should go there and try their halibut fish sandwich I highly recommend it.
Best fish & chips in town and all over.
Best fried fish in and around Spokane and Deer Park
Salty Dog never disappoints. Eat there once and you’ll decide once isn’t enough!
The waitstaff have obvious favorites here and it was shown to my husband and I when we came here. If you aren’t a regular you have to wait for your food a hella lot longer. We watched people sit down after us and got their food way faster after it was quite apparent that they were regulars or at least knew most of the staff. My husband and I both asked for medium rare burgers, no pink what so ever and part of my husband’s burger was burnt. We had a waitress who would walk past our table and pretty much glare down her nose at us. Like come on really dude! We tried to be polite through out it all but it was kind of degrading to be treated as we were.
food was great. Portions were good size. There was only one waitress, but she was hopping and doing a great job. we would stop there again
In the past The Salty Dog put out a Halibut and Chips worth driving the miles from Spokane for – Nice chunks of Halibut!!
Today, my wife and I took my Sister and Nephew out there for “The Legendary” Halibut and Chips we had bragged up and have enjoyed so frequently in the past.
As it turned out we ended up spending $120.00 w/tip for 4 orders of Halibut and Chips, 2-three piece and 2-4 piece, that the new portion size looked like it belonged on the $5.99 daily special menu at Zips.
I truly don’t mind spending money on a quality meal with family and/or friends – I really don’t – but to spend $120 w/tip on a meal that the portion size could have easily been equal to what you would get out of a box?
Yea I’m done – I can’t justify that.
Anyone reading this – you have been warned !!
Cya Salty Dog – We won’t be coming back for more!!
The food was delicious and seemed to come out fairly quickly despite how busy it was! The waitress was kind and attentive.
if i could give it a zero i would. we went in to the restaurant and sat at our table for 10 minutes before even being greeted, mind you the store wasnt busy at all. we waited for garlic bread for 45 minutes as an appetizer. when our food came out it was luke warm and looked like it had been manhandled. the only good part of our visit was when our waiter went on break and we got a nicer person serving us.
1st time here and happy to support a true locally owned business. I had the Taco Salad with.homemade tortilla chips and the other party had code and chips. Some beers are $3( cheap) and some wines are $3. A great.pub place. Go and support 1 of the only local eateries in Deer Park( we came from NW Spokane
The food us always good there. BUT waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes for our orders to come was Not acceptable and it was hard on some to get back to work, and make it to an appointment.
Great halibut. Small pieces, but you order by how many pieces you want. Salad was good and waffle fries were tasty. Service was good too.
Delicious hand battered cod. Wonderful clam chowder.
We love eating at Salty Dog! On the rare occassion that you are unhappy with food or service, the owner is quick to make it right. And she works her tail off to step up if staff are bogged down. The servers have the best attitudes and the owner is sure to make you laugh. We have had nearly everything from their menu. Our go-to items include their taco salad, BLT, and clam chowder bread bowl. Their cole slaw is my favorite, 2nd only to my Grandma’s! The atmosphere is great and their prices are fair. I recommend it all the time!
Good tavern to stop in if you want Deep Fried Food and regional/domestic beers. It is a Kwanzaa Hut.
The barkeep helped us to not leave behind our pencil, wallet, and phone.
Maybe utilize Eggers meats for your oysters instead of Costco.
The Calamari and clam strips were delicious.
Best fish and chips
Have been here a few times and enjoyed the fish a lot. Other items seem like they are not freshly prepared, as if they heated up frozen items and put them on a plate. The atmosphere is nice. Families and friends gathered to share a meal, for that I would have a beer or watch a game here, but would likely eat only the fish.
Ordered the Captain’s platter. The entire meal was uncooked to the point food posioning was a concern, the coleslaw was rotten. The employee, as well as the owner, was rude and argued with the status of the food. offered no help, and gave no solutions or fixes. Refused to give a refund. Disgusting. Horrible service. Very, very disappointing. Awful experience.
Good eats. Had the biggest ribeye they had with a loaded baked potato. Was a little fatty but was cooked perfectly and was delicious. They have lots of cool hockey memorabilia. Will happily eat here again.
I wish I had pics of our dinner tonight at Salty Dog, but we dove in so fast to our food! Everything was absolutely delicious! We split the French dip and a four piece battered halibut. It was the best French dip either of us had ever had! The beef was incredibly flavorful, as was the aus jus. The battered halibut was so good! It is a light batter so the flavor of the Halibut really shines through. Everything was so good! Our server was the owner’s daughter and she was delightful. We loved the laid-back vibe and rustic but beautiful atmosphere.
I always forget how good this place is!! Always very satisfied with my food! I definitely Recommend. It’s nice to have a good sit in restaurant in deer park!!
Great ambiance, drink choices, and the food was very good and their portions were generous. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Good fish and chips. The burgers come on ciabatta bread can’t wait to try one
Best french dip I have had in so long!!! The staff was awesome. Will be returning!
Great food awesome staff. Relaxing atmosphere. The halibut and chips was delicious!
Great American food. Can’t remember where they get their beef but its top notch.
I had a 12 oz ribeye with the crosscut french fries and a piece of garlic bread and it was easily the best steak I’ve had in Deer Park. By far the best meal I’ve had out in a long time I will definitely be eating at the salty dog many times again. My wife had a wonderful chicken Caesar salad my son had some butt jumbo prawns there was even homemade cheesecake for dessert and it was beyond amazing
Friendly staff, great food, great prices. Will definitely be back. Bacon Blue Cheese burger while small size was not skimping on the Blue Cheese. Excellent.
The best and only place to go locally for halibut. This is the best halibut I have ever had. Been going here for years.
A Family member and myself went in to eat here for the very first time just recently. The atmosphere was Great and so was the food.
My only concern was the service. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a situation where the server CLEARLY had no desire to be at work. It was very obvious and showed in both the way we were treated and others around us.
Awesome little local spot. Great food and good prices as well as awesome ambiance and service.
We enjoy eating at Salty Dog. The food and the service are always good.
Portions were good sized, and tasty. Staff was attentive, although it seemed like our order had been skipped by the kitchen when later tables were served long before our meal arrived. Overall, I would return to try more on their menu.
Was recommended to come here and try the halibut fish and chips. Was not disappointed!
Very casual vibe, don’t expect to be waited on hand and foot. They definitely are friendly, but aren’t about to dote on you to make sure you’re enjoying your food, which is totally fine by me!
It’s okay. Limited items to choose from. Lime 5 different types of food per item like meat or burgers. Prices were too much for the quality and size of the dish. Other then that the fry sauce and waffle fries were good. The burger I had tasted off. I dont k ow if it was cooked all the way. Spent like 45 bucks there. Not impressed.
Cute place, service was good. But the steak was very fatty and for the quality of the food wasn’t worth the price. Why to high priced.
The interior is great and the waitstaff does a great job and the length of the wait is not their fault. It took FOREVER to get our food and when my taco salad finally came out the meat was cold and the grease from the meat had become a sticky mess. The hubs got a burger and said he really liked the fries, but the burger was bland. To be fair, the place was packed to the gills and it seems like most were regulars, so maybe it was just an off night. I just expect more when paying for a sit down meal. Again, the wait staff was very good and attentive and our issues were not their fault.
Stopped by on a Saturday for some lunch with the wife. We got there at 12:50 and kinda knew what we wanted (Burger and fries for me). Read over the menu and ordered. The food finally came to the table at 1:44. We were getting ready to leave when it showed up. Since it wasn’t busy, we didn’t know why it took so long for our order. The food was good, the service was okay, and the place was clean and neat. We should have just stopped at Zips, would have been cheaper and faster, and they have good burgers (I like their tater sauce).
This is a fun find! I had the Alaskan cod and waffle fries. I got the 3pc option and took half my fries and a piece of fish home. We will be back. Not fast, but very friendly environment and the waitress was great.
Always great food ,service can be slow but worth the wait. Not much help is lowering the quality of this restaurant.
The food portions are worth the price, the waitress was really nice and accommodating. The food is amazing. Their fry sauce is also to die for. The restaurant is very clean and the bathrooms were sparkling clean.
I tried the deep fried halibut and clam chowder because I heard it was really great. It was ok.
Great steak dinner! Will definitely be back!
Good food & service. Sports bar ambience is kind of a turn-off.
Had the fish and chowder. chowder was cold the waitress knew that and didn’t offer to replace it
It’s a good place, it wasn’t busy when we were there yet a lot of the tables needed wiping. Hamburger was good
Portions are small and the food was cold
My lady and I really enjoyed this place simple atmosphere great food And the Servers are even better
Service slow but food was quick and yummy!
I felt their food was over priced and service was lacking.
We came from Spokane to meet a friend. It was the perfect place to have a fabulous lunch and visit. I would recommend it to anyone! We had cod fish and chips, Onion rings and slaw…. yummy 😋
Great service, good sized serving and decent prices. Atmosphere was rustic and unique.
They need to hire more people…the food was great.
