1. Service was fantastic and food was as well. We had a small party in their back room and it was perfect.

2. Good food, decent service but the place is WAY TOO LOUD. We’ve eaten there four times and have sat in all different areas of the restaurant and bar, unfortunately, all locations were so loud we could barely hold a conversation at our own table. Better acoustics or sound reading material in the ceiling might help. Want to give all local businesses our money before going to chain restaurants so hope things change before we will be back.

3. My wife and I love this place. We eat here a few times per month since it is so close. I will say that the service when they opened was slower, but has improved a lot. So if you see some older reviews saying that, it is not how the service is now. We recommend the chicken nachos, Big Hoss burger and chicken Marsala! Their tater tots are always really good!!

4. That was the best dinner I’ve had in years. Seriously. I almost regret leaving an honest review because once word leaks out this place will be standing room only. Love it. Will be back.

5. We had breakfast here and it was delicious!! Lots of choices, I had the vegetarian omelette with loaded hash browns. So good! The homemade strawberry jam was an added bonus.

6. Amazing food. Love the new breakfast menu and all the new choices. Great customer service and family atmosphere. Definitely will be my regular go to place for a great meal.

7. We have lived in Mica for 15 years and we love having such a great restaurant so close. The seating is clean and comfortable, the drinks are well poured, the staff are all friendly and accept custom orders with a smile. But the best part is the food. The menu is very diverse, the portions are ample and always served hot, and everything we have tried has been delicious! We are excited about the new breakfast menu, and the upcoming dinner menu expansion!!!

8. With having a 18 month old sometimes going out to eat can be challenging. Our server meghann was absolutely AMAZING!!!’ She made the entire experience enjoyable and fun! Our food was also delicious!! Thank you Ponderosa bar and grill we can’t wait to see you again!

9. Had a variety of food here. Some appetizers, drinks and meals. Our waitress Judith was super friendly and consistent. Always checking in every table. Loved that. Only down side was the cheese for the pretzel was off but our waitress took care of us. The bartender made us a winter type of hot cocktail that was delicious and cute looking. We will be back.

12. Showed up with a full front lobby. We were seated in less than 10 min. My kids were starving and the waitress knew immediately to take the kids order for food right away. Drinks were awesome and prices were extremely fair. Service was awesome…food was top notch and that include food off the kids menu (as a parent it was very good and that doesn’t happen very often). New manager is going above and beyond to ensure everything is in order. New management doing a great job! Keep it up! We will be back!

15. An interesting variety of food on the menu and a surprisingly good amount of stouts on tap. Prices aren’t cheap, but the good selection made it worth it for me.

16. The waiter was super nice and the food was great! Unfortunately everytime I was eating the waiter came!! I felt so bad because I never got a chance to properly thank her and had to nod when I wanted a refill! But yeah I loved it.

17. I have been here twice now. Out first visit was dinner and it was so good, but today we decided to try breakfast. Ordered for pickup so we could go home. We ordered burritos. 1 sausage and 1 chorizo. Both were not very good. On my sausage burrito there was hardly any sausage and not much flavor. My husband ordered the chorizo burrito and it looked as though there was no chorizo on it at all. It looked like just egg and potato. Will not do breakfast again. Dinner was good though
    It from a 3 to 1 because of our dislike of your breakfast burritos, and it would not let me add a new review. I did say I liked our dinner, but because of your snide comment I see you don’t like people’s honesty. That’s to bad now we won’t be back for dinner either.

18. We came in a year ago and did not have a great experience, bad food and not great service. We heard they are under new management and gave them another shot. Great service and even better food. Chicken fried steak was awesome. Phillip has done a great job turning this restaurant around.

20. We have been coming to Ponderosa pretty much since they opened in summer of 2020 and although we have never had a bad experience, today was absolutely the best. We noticed a lot of new things and menu changes that made it even better than it was but the best things like their amazing Bloody Mary, are still the same. Definitely will be going more frequently now!!

21. The homemade corn beef hay was delicious! The staff were very nice and attentive. The atmosphere was chill mellow!! We left with full bellies and thoughts of our next visit. Enjoy your world folks!!!

24. LOVE this place! They are in the process of revamping everything from the drinks to the patio to the menu and new management is amazing! They recently started doing breakfast- homemade strawberry jam, tons of skillets and benedicts its a perfect spot for a Sunday morning. Highly reccommend the mimosa flight- enough for share with another person too!

25. We found our experience to be exceedingly average. Nothing was particularly special and some things were really subpar. My wife ordered the fish and chips while I had a burger. Again, just average with both. Fish was cooked through and fresh which is a plus. The burger was cooked beyond recognition. So dry that no amount of condiments would save it. The place not overly packed yet we still had to wait for a table–staffing seemed about right but they were slow with everything. Slow to greet, slow to clear tables, slow to seat, slow to take orders, and just plain bad at getting food to the right tables. Prices were okay but the other deficiencies make this a one and done for us.

26. Party of 5 for breakfast today. First time to this establishment. Seated very quickly and welcomed by a friendly and very attentive server. Excellent food all around and the Bloody Mary and Mimosa flights were amazing!! You get an entire bottle of champagne per flight! The owner even stopped by our table to visit and give us a “sneak peek” of his new menu in the works, which looks fantastic btw. Great environment all the way around. We will definitely be back!!

27. Diverse menu. Delicious food. Supportive service. The vibe is definitely a good time. Thinking we’ve found our new spot! Can’t wait for warmer weather when the garage doors open!

30. We were looking forward to trying the halibut and chips but it’s not served there anymore. They need to update their menu online. So we ordered the cod and chips…out of cod! Ended up with a burger and chicken fried steak. Both were delicious. Way too much salt on the onion rings. We will try for the fish and chips earlier next week. Service was ok at the bar.

31. Well I have had breakfast here before, was good, but haven’t tried dinner until today. I had the fish and chips today and I must say that they were better than the two places on Sprague in the valley that I swore were the best fish and chips around. Ponderosa has them beat hands down. The fish was not overcooked and the batter was well seasoned. This will now be my go to place for fish and chips. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!

32. My husband and I ate here for lunch today.. He had the chicken Marsala which he said was really good. I had the special today which was steak bites and it was a very small portion for $17. So $50 bucks for lunch snd I came home hungry 😞

34. Nice little place I’ll try again. Had the deoblo shrimp it was really good. Could have been a little spicer the potatoes over powered the dish. More brussel sprouts would have been 5 star.

38. Dinner with hubby. Amazing meal with all the fixings. Waiter was super pleasant. It wasn’t super busy yet, but we got there around 4pm. Will definitely be going again. The restaurant was very clean and staff was friendly. The prices were very reasonable.

48. The place was busy, and the staff was friendly. However, the food was only OK. We had one person with us that is vegetarian. She only eat the outer edge of the vegie burger. She said the rest was unacceptable to eat. Don’t plan on going back. To many other places to eat with better food.

49. We finally made our way in and we are soooo happy we did! Amazing food with a well-rounded menu that is just the right size. Super great staff, lots of smiles from all of them and they were all very friendly.

52. The steak bites were good and I could’ve eaten ten more pieces of that garlic bread. The mai tai was huge! Boyfriend’s baked potato was overcooked and friend wasn’t thrilled with his Reuben but one of the kids said the Rodeo was the best burger they’d ever had. Would like to come back and sit on the patio, especially since it’s dog friendly! And the rest of the cocktail menu looks amazing.

    We get take away at least 1 time a week. The kids love the pizza and we love to get burgers.

59. This place could easily become 5 star but the service is inconsistent. All 3 times we’ve been there, something quirky happens. Once we had a mix up in our bill and she thought she resolved it, ran it without letting us approve and boom, wrong again. Unnecessary.
    The prices are reasonable, the location great, the menu has something for everyone.
    We’ll keep coming back … we see outdoor heaters for those who don’t do dine in yet. Appreciate that!

64. Wasn’t bad. But not very flavorful. Buffalo burger had no flavor and dry. Under staffed so service was not worth trying to sit back and relax and have a conversation with anyone, because you spent more time trying to get service for drinks or paying the check. I may think twice before going back.
    Can’t service like the Otis Grill did. Food there was the best. To bad the bar isn’t like it. Sorry long time patron and possibly the last time. To bad I’m a family own business supporter but think you lost your touch with the food end and went for alcohol $$.
    EDITED I only leave bad reviews on bad services. I would leave good reviews but I tip extremely well so I choose not to write a review for great services.

70. Couldn’t talk to my family over lunch on the patio because the speakers for the football game were so loud had to scream over them. Was told they couldn’t turn them down. Food was dry and tasteless, roast beef tasted like three day old leftovers they just reheated and threw on a bun. No amount of au jus could’ve made that sandwich edible. I’ve had better from a grocery store deli. Edit:We did ask for the speakers to get turned down and was denied the request, This is the last dollar they’ll ever get from me after the hundreds I’ve spent here, I tried to give them another chance after they ruined father’s Day for my dad and I’m surprised they’re even in business still.

71. It was ok/good. Not great or memorable. It was busy with live music, the ambiance was lively. My old fashioned was weak but tasted ok. My wife’s hot Italian sandwich was ok. My prime rib was pretty good, the bark was great & the meat was prepared just right. The accompanying vegetables looked sad. The potato wasn’t hot, I asked for extra butter and it didn’t all melt in. The service was very good, though. It was well priced, not too expensive.
    Then the bill comes. The tip portion came & the options were custom, 18%, 20% and 28%. 28%! I usually tip 20% for good service. But 28%???

78. The food was absolutely perfect as well as the service! My only issue with the atmosphere was I thought the lighting was a little too Brite. But all in all, I would recommend eating here to all.

79. I will say first off, that the food here is delicious and the staff is great. That being said, the music can be a bit loud at times. While I fully support having live music and supporting local musicians, which when at the restaurant creates a great atmosphere, it can be loud for people who live nearby. For context, I have a few family members and friends who live in the neighborhoods across the street from the Barney’s parking lot (primary 40th avenue and adjacent streets) who have said that they can hear the music in the evenings and how it can be very loud (some of them go to bed at around 8-9pm) and how it can be hard to fall asleep because of the noise. However, it has not been as loud this year. Again I do appreciate the music, however it can be a little bit bothersome for a few people.
