Clams were delicious. So was everything else really. Dining area is small but the view is beautiful. Service is slow but somehow it all works. Recommend it to tourists and locals.
I would not recommend Waterline Pub. We waited an hour and half for our food which never came. People that came after us got their food. When we left they didn’t offer to compensate us our drinks.
Don’t waste your time here.
Great service and excellent food. It was very nice. Recommend to anyone who loves good seafood or just great food.
This is one of the better places to eat. The decor is really cute. The bar is coming along
We had a wonderful experience. The room was very comfortable. Food and drinks at the pub were great too.
The staff were superb and exceeded my expectations! We plan on returning for another stay here in the future.
Great food and staff, always enjoy coming here! Nice patio when the weather is decent as well.
A great place to stay with newly renovated rooms, a wonderful pub with great drinks and food and the friendliest and most accommodating staff. Nearby attractions include Cape Disappointment and Long Beach. Had a wonderful time!!!
Only went to the restaurant, but the repurpasd cannery timbers and recycled oak floor is beautiful
Cannot say enough about this boutique hotel- absolutely phenomenal!
Irene welcomed us like we were her girlfriends coming to stay the weekend with her… so excited to see us.
So pleased with our “Double D” queen room for our girls trip. So large, great hospitality bar set up with fresh filtered water and a wine fridge for all of our beverages and snacks. The room was so clean. The perfect amt of space for our girls trip.
After we set our bags down and headed downstairs to the pub, she had a glass of yummy Rose waiting for us.
Dinner was incredible- the nosh board was incredible. Those OYSTERS- amazing! 🦪
Probably one of my fav martinis I’ve had too!
Hands down one of the comfiest beds I’ve slept too…
Breakfast is included with your room reservation and it was a tasty homemade quiche Marcene made…such a treat.
It was a quick 24 yr trip and we didn’t want to leave at alll… wish we could’ve stayed another night.
Beautiful hotel, incredible staff, the food and the coziest room. THANK YOU!
Right before God rested on the 7th day he created The Inn at the Helm! My fiancé surprised me for a birthday weekend getaway and our entire stay blew us both away. We truly didn’t want to leave! Needless to say, I’ve worked in the service industry for many years so I have a fairly high standard of excellence that I’m used to. Yes… I can be fairly picky. But, our entire stay was beyond exceptional. I don’t have a single thing I would’ve changed. Everything was beyond perfect. From the breathtaking view from our room, the adorable room itself, the welcome drinks and snacks in our room when we arrived, the outstanding complementary full breakfast and mimosas each morning and my birthday dinner and melt in your mouth chocolate lava cake with raspberries… I can’t stop thinking about it! Each and every meal we had was beyond delicious! The freshest seafood I’ve had in the longest time! Now on to the customer service. Irene and the owner were both beyond gracious and welcoming. They made us both feel like old friends visiting their home. I’ve worked for a 5 star hotel and also high end restaurants for well over 20 years. They both are literally the best of the best at what they do. I’m reluctant to write this excellent review because I want this hidden gem all to myself! Thank you for making this much needed getaway so very special and beyond memorable! We can’t wait to return! Next time we’re staying longer!
Came into the pub for some drinks and appetizers. The chowder and clams were fantastic as well as the drinks. Irene was so kind and wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Good hotel except for the high pricing.
Neat and clean. Breakfast is included but very very small portion sizes.
It was like a ghost town due to covid and it being winter time but the hotel was well kept.
The front desk staff was very Unprofessional though, we were the only guests so She felt she didnt need to even be present on the property when we checked-in. She used her son as an excuse to not show up and take care of the breakfast that came with our room. We were not fully compensated and were not given the full accommodations that we paid for and were promised.
Basically we were an inconvenience.
Honestly one of the worst trips ive had in years.
We went to the restaurant and were completely ignored. We got up and left. The bartender was busy catching up her stories with another couple who came in after we did. We also asked if we could have menus. The hostess/bus person was nice gave us water and menus. Well ,we were probably a $100.00 sale for the Helm.
We absolutely loved this place, the staff are amazing some of the best hospitality we have ever had, our room was beautiful so much attention to detail (filtered water, snacks, Nespresso coffee, linens, breakfast served to your room at no additional cost). Food was equally as good, we will definitely return. Also a great location overlooking the harbor.
We’ve stayed at The Helm 2 times, 4 nights total. second time with a couple of guests. Really prefer the hotel is now adults only. (No kids running the upstairs hallway at 7 am this time) The rooms are comfortable and post-industrial decorated. Concrete floors with carpeting in the bed area. No air conditioning. Coffee machine, no decaf. In-room refrigerator. No in-room servicing (no fresh towels, or bed made) is available during your stay. Make do with only 2 washcloths for 2 people the entire stay. Run more like a Bed and Breakfast with no staff on site most of the time. Self-check-in with keys laid out on the reception desk. Breakfast hours are not conducive if you charter a fishing boat as the hours are late and not long (about 2 hours). Free wine and beer at check-in was a nice surprise but not anything you’d want another glass of. The chef for the restaurant does a great job and the food is very tasty, but again, hours are very limited (breakfast and dinner only) . Gal that shows up when restaurant/bar is open is sweet but very gabby and scattered. Not able to focus enough to wait on more than one table at a time. Reserved two rooms over the phone but when we arrived with our guests, there was only one room key laid out for us. Tried to call the hotel but nobody answers! (this was experienced during both stays, with no one to provide any assistance) Had to roam the hotel to try to find someone and got lucky as we did find a gal cleaning a room. Fortunately, there was another room available, so we didn’t have to come up with a plan B. The Helm Hotel is probably the most expensive in the area hands down the best accommodation in Ilwaco.
Great food. Great service. Really nice menu with lots of options. Try the Seafood Nosh Board. Lot’s of great food. Beware, it’s pretty generous so you might want to have it first and then decide on next course. My wife and i ordered it and it was enough for lunch for the two of us. Nice outdoor option that is Pupper friendly. Cheers,
This place is touted to locals as upscale dining. The menu is quite small, as is the beer and wine selection. The service was ok and the food was decent if slightly undercooked and under seasoned. We were a little disappointed. …
Great views and super comfy room. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. Delicious homemade breakfast too!
Large group for lunch at the Waterline Pub. The food was wonderful! Fresh ling cod with chips was very good. Loved the apple in the slaw. Our waiter Sam was awesome! He even introduced himself to the table with our particular method of introductions.
My sister and I stopped by the sunny patio at The Helm yesterday. What a nice surprise. Irene, our Server, asked a few questions then provided a few tips.
The selections were perfect!!! The Seafood Charcuterie and delicious red wine were fabulous choices.
Finished with their dessert espresso martini which was 1 of the best I’ve ever had! Bravo!
