    Amazing!

  2. Nathan Jones

They had delicious fresh poke and sashimi and a variety of refreshing cocktails. The food is a tad expensive, but well worth the cost for the high quality ingredients you’re getting. Very excited to finally have quality poke on the island.

If you’re coming from the island, beware of a long wait in the ferry line, take the back way through the parking lot on Winslow Way instead.

Ordered online while on the ferry ride from Seattle because we wanted something quick while passing through Bainbridge. There was no way to get an estimate for the time it would be ready. I also saw no option to request a pick up time, so it was ready about 15 minutes before we could get there. Otherwise, the online order and pick up was smooth.

The black cod bento was okay. Nothing to write home about. Found a hamachi sashimi buried at the bottom of the menu and very glad I did. Ordered a 7 piece but only was given 5 pieces in the box. I’m giving it a pass this time because these were the biggest slabs of hamachi sashimi I’ve ever seen. And very tasty!

  4. Dante

Some of the best poke I’ve ever had. Delicious food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. We came back later in the day to grab a snack. Highly recommend.

The salted scallion and ginger poke was particularly excellent.

  5. Joshua Sieck

Stopped on a whim while in the ferry line. Got the scallop poke traditional, wasabi tako, edamame and two of their cocktails. All wonderful. Can’t wait for our next ferry wait to via them!

  6. Zach Williams

One of the best places to eat on Bainbridge. If you don’t eat here on your trip, you’re missing out.

  7. Mathew Ingersoll

    Awesome

  8. Brian Bowen

Such amazing food, friendly atmosphere, and superior service. You would never think to look for and try a place like this until you try it. Totally worth the adventure!

  9. Molly

This place is a hidden gem! Such great, fresh fish, delicious cocktails and fun desserts.

  10. Catherine Weber

Everything I’ve eaten here has been devine. My favorite is the salmon ra-yu poke bowl. Also the 9 square bento box is a real crowd pleaser to bring to a gathering! Don’t forget to try the home made ginger soda!

  11. Charl Lee

If I could give 10 stars I would.
Starting with the customer service.. Amazing. The recommendations she made were spot on.
The food was incredible. Absolutely worth getting through ferry traffic.
We ordered the Island Bento Box, Grilled Unagi Don, edamame and Traditional Ahi Poke. SO delicious.
I had the Yuzu Blast tea, my parents had green tea. They ended their meal with the locally sourced soft serve ice cream. 1 with matcha topping and 1 with Yuzi(?) Delish 😋

  12. Rachel Cousin

Best clam chowder ever! Poke bowl also legit

  13. Crystal Lefoy

Convenient spot located just after the pier. Friendly staff and good food.

  14. Жељко Божидар «Leo» Радовић

High quality, delicious food that is well prepared, served quickly and in a friendly manner.

  15. Ryan Brinton

Really good Poke! Love the shrimp chips too! I enjoyed interacting with the staff. They were very friendly!

  16. Christopher Gorrie

My grandmother and I really enjoyed the food at HI LIFE on Bainbridge. The poke and curry were very fresh and had high-quality ingredients. The shop is quaint and cute with a lot of color; it also includes something of a tiny market. The staff are congenial and welcoming. They gave my grandmother a couple of samples. I liked it a lot, would recommend to travelers coming in and out of the ferry landing!

  17. Hang Gao

    No flavor, not fresh

HI LIFE is a nice small poke bowl themed restaurant to catch a meal before the ferry ride over to/from Seattle. I went with my partner at the time, when it just opened. So our meals came out fresh, on-time and we had a nice view of the sea just outside the patio area. The restaurant is the closest you’re going to get to the sea side and the ferry terminal. The staff there are polite, the menu has a variety of sea food to serve, and as a bonus, the washroom has very cute fishing decorations. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The menu pricing is a bit higher than average likely because of it being a tourist area. But besides that, I’d recommend this poke bowl place to anybody who enjoys eating raw or cooked seafood!

  19. Stan Finkelshtein

Absolutely the best fresh poke bowl I’ve ever had (and I had many).
You choose the fish, the sauce and that’s it. Few minutes later it lands on the table and you just can’t stop.

Location is cool as weel, inside of an old gas station just outside the ferry terminal. Super cool place!!!

  20. Jaiden Williams

Hi Life poke is so delicious and very affordable. The location is perfect just a block away from the ferry terminal so whether you are coming or going you can stop in to get a quick bite with some fresh seafood!

  21. Wendi Morse

So happy to have such a great restaurant with fun, unique and, most importantly, delicious food at hand! One of our reasonably priced locals too. We’ve never had anything we didn’t love. Just had their $10 ramen special and it’s amazing! I don’t even add anything more, like sambal. Always fresh. We love their poke sampler box for 2. Please don’t ever close!

  22. Seth Schrenzel

    Really tasty salmon poke bowl.

  23. Darlene Gorgonia

Love their scallop poke but their weekend ramen specials really hit the spot especially on a typical PNW rainy afternoon.

  24. Jeremy Dashe

Really delicious, fresh poke and Japanese fusion. Very creative and tasty locally sourced food. Great drinks as well! The ambiance is cool too, in a repurposed auto station next to the Bainbridge ferry terminal.

  25. Cassie Roberts

Waited in line for about half an hour and ordered two beers. Waited another 15 minutes and ultimately had to leave to catch the ferry. No offer to refund. The food looked good but don’t stop here if you only have an hour.

  26. Ally

My favorite poke spot! Sooo good!

  27. Damon Seeley

One of the best places on BI

  28. Disha J Patel

Probably the most delicious meal I’ve ever had on Bainbridge – everything is absolutely delicious! I think I’ll be coming here all the time 🙂

  29. Kelly Cruz-Rosas

Food very delicious and staff very friendly

  30. Sonya Bennett

Excellent quality poke bowls with so many house-made delicacies. Make sure your try their yuzu seltzers!

  31. srideepa banerjee

This small place just by the Ferry terminal is so awesome, we will be coming to the island just to eat. They have barbecue grill on fri and weekends so that adds to the atmosphere. We were in hurry and ordered Teriyaki chicken bowl and a ramen soup. Both were better than anything we had in Seattle so far!

  32. Anastasia Kunderova

    Best poke in Washington!

  33. Sergey Maksimov

Wow, surprisingly lovely place next to the ferry waiting parking.

The poke bowl is as good as you can get, opinionated by the owners in a good way. Worth coming just because of this place.

  34. Mario

Love this place. They have expanded their menu since it opened and I’m looking forward to trying the new stuff.

  35. Tim

Hard not to order way too much food. Everything is amazing. Easy to drive up for takeout and an easy stop when you’re walking on the ferry. If you don’t live on Bainbridge Island, this place will make you want to come back and visit more often.

  36. Dan Jones

Wow. Phenomenal. Three times over. My wife and I visited the island for the first time today and, boom, Hi Life is conveniently near the ferry area. It felt like we were back on our Hawaiian vacation. We had a poke bowl, short rib plate, spam musubi and cold coffee drinks. Then we came back for a strawberry sandwich, boba tea and this wicked clam chowder with what I think was chile oil. Amazing. Not to be outdone, we came back a third time for more poke, more short rib, a delicious Moscow mule drink that was refreshingly lemony and a mango beverage. Everything was so so good. Very low-key appearance but wonderful service and bomb food.

  37. Zackery Paladino

Damnnnnn boiiiii, this poke spot is legit and is an awesome find. Everything fresh, awesome drinks, and great people. Nailed it

  38. Kim Matsumoto

I love this place – can’t say enough about the quality of food. Besides the poke, the clam chowder is exceptional. I haven’t ventured beyond this because I have to order these things every time I go here. I hope I can break out of this habit to try something new at some point….

  39. Ziyi Yang

So yummy! Serving is fast. Portion is huge for girls. We want to try more next time.

  40. Stuart Moulder

Wow! The poke bowl here is to the poke bowls at TnC what an El Gaucho steak is compared to a Sizzler steak. This was one of the best poke bowls I’ve ever had.

  41. Christine Chye

Poke bowl was great! Shoyu ahi was marinated well and toppings especially the immigration crab were delicious

  42. Douglas Liddell

    Awesome! The best.

  43. Breezy Gnemmi

    Food is simply divine!!!

  44. Naresh Rajan

We got ra-yu bowls, tuna and salmon and a truffle mayo bowl. The fish was very fresh, excellent texture and flavor. The other toppings also were high quality. No edamame, which was a real plus, but just a personal preference. The seaweed salad was good, etc. I just had lunch and my mouth is watering again as I write about the poke bowl I had at Hi Life. Great beer selection, wonderful ambiance, with the Okinawan souvenirs and the Hawaiian décor. It’s going to be a Bainbridge Island regular thing for me!

  45. Julie Shannon

Hip and crazy delicious, in a fun destination town. This is my new favorite restaurant! I absolutely loved my poke bowl. I tasted my friend’s clam chowder, and now I am dreaming about it 🤣

  46. Giuliano “Giulio” Soncini

Excellent poke, the place is simple, easy to find from the ferry terminal, it’s definitely worth a stop to try some good food!

  47. AmirReza Oghbaee

Great food and nice vibes. The Yuzu drinks and cocktails were my favorite.

  48. Carlyn H

A little Hawaiian for the soul on this cool PNW day is soo good 👍 food is so fresh and the Hoji-cha! Have one (or two)! Service is top notch! You might just want to cross the Sound from Seattle waterfront to have your poke here. Just walk on the ferry and it’s a very short walk from the dock. You will love it!

  49. Lin Lin Pan

Thoroughly impressed with the quality of fish at this location. The poke bowl was delicious – tasty and unique side dishes in the bowl. I was expecting low quality/fast food style poke, but this was definitely a nice surprise. Better than a fair amount of poke places in Seattle.

  50. Haleigh Bird

Everything was delicious upon our initial experience… I called asking how they make a lemon ginger drink… of course they don’t have to tell me how they make it but the response was so rude they HUNG UP ON ME twice. When I called back they wouldn’t answer. I’m bummed because we really enjoyed this place and the bad attitude was just so unnecessary. A simple we can’t tell you is sufficient, you don’t have to hang up on people. Especially after we spent so much money there.

  51. Madeleine Winslow

Great find! Loved the ramen special and they were super accommodating to my husbands sesame seed allergy. Great location right by the ferry.

  52. Jing Yang

    tasty but too expensive

  53. Henry SooHoo

Great poke bowls with fresh fish. They also give a lot of other condiments like seaweed salad and fake crab salad that mesh well. The one thing I didn’t like with the poke bowl was the addition of what I think was pickled plums. They were distracting to the flavor profile of the rest of the bowl.

The suntory whiskey caramel sundae had great soft serve but you couldn’t really taste the whiskey at all, just caramel. While I’m ok with that, it seems to defeat the purpose of the special if you cannot taste any hint of whiskey at all.

  54. Blake Newell

Awesome food, even better were the employees. Great people even better customer service. Must go!

  55. Jasmine T (Jasmine)

People aren’t joking when they say this is one of the best sushi spots NEAR Seattle. Only a ferry away, but holy moly is it worth it! I will be dreaming of this place forever.

Poke Shokado Box was perfect for the first time trying 8 different sashimi cuts that are dressed up in 8 different ways. You can tell that the fish is so fresh and each bite was perfection.

We also got the Tako Wasabi, raw octopus with seaweed to make your own little delicious scrumptious bites. Octopus was straight from Japan and was absolutely delightful.

The matcha latte and Yuzu tea was also so so freaking good! The Yuzu was actually fresh and perfectly citrus and sweet, the balance was amazing.

10000/10 would come again! Arigatou Gozaimasu <3

  56. Angela Sepulveda Borneman

The service is warm, cheerful and swift; the poke is amazing but my favorite is their Wgyu ramen…WOW. To their poke they also add this pickled eggplant (some might mistake it for a pickled plum). My son and I are addicted. Crunchy, pickly, with umami. Also my addiction? Their housemade Yuzu soda. All this and just next to the ferry makes it a unique experience all around. And even though the seating is limited and not fancy, everything is very clean and I love a place where I can sit and eat and go. The environment is great for getting in and out while enjoying the scenery. We live on Bainbridge Island. We are not in any way affiliated with the owners. We just love the addition and want them to stay forever! (well at least for as long as we are here!).

  57. Charlie Newman

Delicious, authentic (as far as I can discern) poke

  58. Jane Lu

Very delicious! Best poke bowl I have ever had at Seattle. The rice is cooked perfectly.

  59. Albaraa Al-Hiyari

Best fish in the Puget Sound area.

  60. Aidan O'Day

Best poke I’ve ever had, extremely good.

  61. David Maire

Amazing food! A bit pricey but everything is really good!

  62. Çerj

Grabbed a poke bowl to take on the ferry back to Seattle… omg, it was so incredibly bomb. Delicious, not overly sauced, all around perfection.

  63. Cera Rodriguez

    Delicious!

  64. Amy H

The poke bowls are always fresh, and the service was Amazing

  65. Keiver Bencomo Vasquez

food was good, but the poke bowls are really small for the price. if seattle prices are cheaper, i think that says a lot about it. also forgot about our drink, and when we reminded them about it, they gave us another drink and told us it was the one we ordered

  66. AliPanda

    Delicious !!!!

  67. Tomoko Clark

    Best Poke on the island!!

  68. Eli

We ordered a poke bowl for takeout right before a big rush that came in behind us. It took about 30 minutes for the person in front of us to get their food and they lost our order. We only found out when we asked about our food. They went and look around and then brought out something complete opposite of what we ordered and said “This is the best I can do right now.” No apology or refund. It was a disappointing experience.

  69. E.B.

One of my new favorite bites on the island. Service is always fast and helpful. Great for those who commute to and from Seattle.

  70. Tracy Grauman

This place was recommended as Top 10 in WA to try.
Flavors of each sauce in the poke sho-ka-do “9” box was bland and uneventful. Salmon and tuna were the choices along with octopus and squid. Salmon would have tasted better with a drop of soy, wasabi smear and rice.
    Edamame was great!
Now I can say I’ve tried a highly recommended restaurant and disagreed with the reviews.

  71. Brendan Kelly

Stopped in having just got off ferry…probably the best poke bowls we have had…we both had tuna and both were excellent..service was top notch too.We will be back to try more.

  72. Chris Yoo

A hidden gem right off the Bainbridge Island ferry with no wrong choices. Want a cheaper drink or some food? Take advantage of happy hour! My only gripe is that it feels a little pricey, but it feels worthwhile!

  73. Caitlin Corpuz

It was my family’s first time and we wanted to buy poke by the pound. The poke was hands down the best i’ve had since moving from Hawaii to WA. You can taste the freshness and the flavor was amazing!!! The customer service was above and beyond + I loved how home-y everything felt (while having lots of seating available) ! They also let us sample different flavors and were super kind to my son.
Will be returning next time we are in bainbridge!

  74. Ariel Motaghedi Alfaro

The poke is so good! I had the traditional salmon bowl and my sister had the special which was seared salmon. We grabbed them to go and ate in the ferry line. Very good I would definitely make this a guaranteed stop next time I visit Bainbridge.

Parking: A few spots in front and a paid lot right next to it.
