Food was good but for some reason we won’t be rushing back. I can’t remember what I had. Maybe that is why.
We got the chicken pot pie and the balsamic Bleu(grilled cheese). Chicken pot pie was heavy on the spices but overall still good. Balsamic Bleu was a great blend of cheeses and cooked very well
Multiple visits. Always come back. Food is spectacular & always served with a smile. Refill beers never waited for.

The union tavern is the perfect spot to stop if you are in Anacortes. The drinks are amazing and the people who run it are even better. Highly recommend.
My sweetie & I came to Union Tavern for brunch it was delicious as always and the service was excellent.
When we arrived we were welcomed immediately, asked to find a seat and was told by the bartender/server she would be with us.
Service is everything without good service we won’t take the time to find out if the food is good or not.
I am impressed with the level of service our server gave us, the Tavern was busy and filled up as we sat there, as guests continue to arrive the server/bartender was attentive and welcoming.
The food was great, the service was excellent.

Great place for food amd good beer rotations. Met a high school buddy and had a good lunch. Really a good atmosphere and great service.
Mediocre food, mediocre service. Nothing horrible but nothing good either. All dressed up as a hip place to hang.

Update, visited last night: Kayla is by far one of the most patient, attentive people I’ve ever met. [My friend has corn and wheat allergies and unflustered, she made sure menu items were safe.] Her timing on asking if we needed anything was impeccable.
Loved f8nding this place before we ferried home. Good food, cider/beer and atmosphere. We’ll definitely stop by again.

My family and I took a mini vacation to Anacortes this past weekend and we found this awesome restaurant! I’m including two pictures wish I had more but this stew they had which is like an Irish stew was Freaking fabulous! Meat, potatoes, carrots- delicious. The servers were very responsive and friendly. The food came out quickly, the atmosphere was great we had a wonderful table front window by the sidewalk, just a perfect night. I thank them so much even though they were all just doing their jobs. When we return to Anocortes we will definitely be coming back to this restaurant and I advise everyone else to do the same. It is not a huge restaurant so I would get in there early for dinner maybe 5:00 or 6:00.
Nice environment. Decent price on craft beer. They don’t have a frier or serve hamburgers, but the tuna melt I had was quality. A server (I think may have been new) gave me the wrong receipt to pay, though they called my buddy who knew some of the staff and we were able to remedy the overcharge. I think they took off a drink that my friend had ordered as well which was nice of them. I’d recommend the place for anyone visiting Anacortes.

Service, drinks and food on point today!
Joined some friends who already had cocktails. Me and another wanted to order dinner. My friend ordered, I was not ready yet and asked for a another minute. She never came back to take my order. Brought my friends food, before I could talk she walked away. I wound up splitting his meal and left. Even the service for his food was mediocre at best. Took forever to get the check. I’m only in Anacortes a few times a year but sometimes it’s for weeks at a time so we like to try every place. We were severely disappointed.
Good friendly staff and great selection of beer but food needs work.(3 star) Food is much better and staff is still awesome. (4 star)

The good: great atmosphere and vibe with excellent beer selection and full service bar. Food is also very good pub fare.
The bad (or terrible): the service is an abysmal. More than 10 minutes to come over and take a drink order and it only happened because I went to the bar to ask them to send a waitress over. Asked our waitress twice for hot sauce…nothing! Asked another waiter (who by the way as it turned out, the only responsive person in The place) and hot sauce finally appeared. It wasn’t as if they were short on staff. As we were waiting for our drink order to be taken a waitress stood two tables over tucking it up with her pals who had just arrived. Place is in dire need of good management.

I love this place. First off, the bartenders were also running food and they were killing it. Seriously fantastic staff. The beer selection is awesome and I love that you can order a 20 or even 34 oz beer. Food was tasty, and I tried a pickled egg for the first time and even liked that. I will be going here a lot.
A nice local spot with great old fashioned’s, an ample beer selection, and outdoor dog friendly seating too. Service is quick, attentive, and thorough, and food is good. A nice place to unwind, relax, and/or gather with friends. Good atmosphere. Hard to beat!!

The Meatloaf is their signature dish. Thr waitress said some prople come and if it is sold out, they leave.
It was great as were the smashed potatoes, as I think they refer to them.
Michael is such a great server and gentleman.

Good food and pleasant service
So glad we made the walk to Union Tavern after a night at the Majestic Inn. We didn’t want a menu full of friedness, weren’t in the mood for Mexican (a rarity for us), and were looking for fresh oysters which surprisingly we couldn’t find anywhere without heading to the chain restaurant nearby. Union Tavern didn’t necessarily have the fresh oysters we were hoping for but had oyster shooters which were close enough!
We walked into a busy outdoor patio, a few tables of 2-4 inside, and a few sprinkled bartop. Rachel the bartender was running an amazing one woman show with style and grace! We ordered a Wander Raspberry Sour and a hand crafted spicy margarita, both were the refreshments we needed stepping in from a hot day. First round of shooters were impressively stocked with diced cucumbers, capers and a little heavy on the cocktail sauce, but still good. Second round we ordered minus the cocktail sauce and used the first servings left overs. We also ordered the meatloaf burger, sooooo much better than it sounds, and a seafood chowder. Everything was delicious!
Bathrooms were clean, ambiance was comfortable with soft string lights throughout. Great spot for a TON on tap, from ciders, sours to, IPAs and then some.
Awesome food and atmosphere and even better human beings (top to bottom) running this downtown treasure. I’d give 6 stars if it let me.

Nowhere near enough staff for the amount of guests. We waited almost an hour for food, with no drink refills, and had to chase down the two people working for our check and to pay at the end.

It was packed so not my favorite experience but the bartenders were on their game! Very impressed watching them handle the crowd, both indoors & outdoors.

Fun place to watch the Seahawks game! The food was really good. I had the grill cheese sandwich with turkey and bacon. My husband has shepherds pie. The staff were great!

Really enjoyed the Seattle Dog and Irish Dip we had for lunch nice cozy atmosphere right in downtown.
Santa needs to bring the chef a slotted spoon for Christmas so he may drain the grease off the food before serving up the plate. I ordered the beef tacos. First bite the grease was running out of the end onto the plate and saturating the other 2 tacos. When the wait staff took my uneaten plate they should have asked if there was something wrong with the food, as it was obvious there was. My husband ordered the chicken tacos which came with cold meat inside them. We paid our bill, tipped the wait staff and decided we will never return based on what was on our plates.
Food is not ordinary pub burgers but a lot better. Dogs, sandwiches, and excellent chili! Shepard pie is also very good. Wide selection of taps. Cheers!
Absolutely LOVED this place! The food was AMAZING and the atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping for. I had no idea a “Meatloaf-Sandwich” could be that good. OMG! I ordered 2 sides as well — the Coleslaw and Beans. I’m just going to say — I’ve never had Coleslaw that good. The beans were the best/most unique flavor I’ve tasted in my entire existence. Seriously — they were all that GOOD! Do yourself a favor and give these folks an opportunity to rock your tastebuds!

Love this place. The staff is a tight supportive team, the food has not disappointed, the beer is always changing & introducing us to new favorites
