Amazingly friendly staff, delicious craft cocktails and the vibe was terrific. Definitely coming back next time I’m in Anacortes

  3. Amber Uhlhorn

Everything was absolutely delicious. Had the spare ribs and Cornish game hen, pear sorbet and chocolate tahini ice cream. Many gluten free choices. And the cocktails and wine selection are great.

This is the best restaurant in the entire state – Anacortes is worth a visit just to eat here! The paella and clam chowder are life changing. Fresh seafood thoughtfully prepared with amazing flavors. This is the restaurant I recommend and rave about to everyone I meet.

A’Town Bistro. From the moment you walk in, you know this is not your average dining experience. This is a journey into the heart and soul of the Pacific Northwest. You’ve got to let go of any preconceived notions, because what’s about to happen is nothing short of magic.

The chefs here are operating on a level that requires total excellence. Every ingredient is sourced locally, every dish a masterpiece in its own right. These guys are walking between perfection and overkill, and they do it with the kind of expertise that leaves coming back for more.

The front of house staff is equally impressive, knowledgeable beyond belief and always ready with a suggestion or a story. They bring a standard of service that’s above the rest, and they do it with a smile.

The flavors here are assertive, the technique refined, the ingredients exquisite. It’s like the focus is on dazzling your senses in every way possible, and let me tell you, it works.

If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at A’Town Bistro. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, this place is a must-visit. You won’t regret it. Five stars, all the way.

There is no place like ATown. I’m a hard gal to please when it comes to dinner restaurants, and ATown is one of the best I’ve ever been to (lucky for me I’m a local). Their ingredients are incredibly fresh, flavorful and locally sourced, and the flavors and textures of their dishes are exquisite. If you can get their calamari with squid ink aïoli, do it. Their cocktails are thoughtful and deeply satisfying. The atmosphere is intimate and beautiful without being pretentious, and there’s always the *perfect* amount of ambient noise. Beyond anything else, the service is phenomenal. Whether it’s your first time or 50th time, you’re treated like family – and I know how that sounds, but I’m dead serious. I recommend this stellar dining experience to anyone and everyone who appreciates excellent food and phenomenal customer service.

Dietary restrictions: They have STELLAR gluten-free bread. OMG.

Oh, so good! I am not a foodie, but this is the best food I’ve ever eaten.

Called ahead and the amazing staff had a high chair ready and waiting for our 2 year old with the children’s menu and a children’s book. Amazing Food, Delicious Drinks and Excellent Service – Can’t wait to take the family there again!

Best culinary experience I’ve had in years!! We came in without a reservation on a Saturday night and were promptly seated at the bar. The bartender was incredibly friendly and made our cocktails to perfection! However, the true highlight of the experience was the short ribs and paella! I’ve never had two perfect dishes in one meal. Do yourself a favor and do not skip these two entrees! I live two hours away and will make the trip back to Anacortes for this restaurant alone. Favorite restaurant in Washington, hands down.

Grabbed dinner here on our way back from Deception Pass. Really nice, upscale restaurant with a chill vibe. Our waitress was awesome and brought things to keep our 1 year old busy. Patio is dog friendly.

A town bistro is my favorite restaurant in town. The cocktails, food, and service are the best in town!

Everything we tried was superb! It’s pricier than we would usually go for, but great for a special occasion. Our group of three was able to sit right down at their outdoor dining area and had wonderful service. We tried the squid karaage, scotch eggs, paella, short ribs, and their special that night – a half Cornish hen in a harissa honey glaze. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared and presented. They had two tasty ciders on tap and a top notch old fashion. We capped the night with a rhubarb tart and Lopez Island Creamery ice cream. We will definitely be back!

One of the best! In Door Picnic is amazing. The quality of the meats to the veggies pickled in house! The soup amazing. Main dishes just pick one. We have shared and tried them all. Oh…. Clam chowder with clams in the shells!

  19. Linda Brown

Hands down best food in the valley! Excellent service from the host to server! Thank you A town!!

  20. Wendy Drake

A Town is my favorite place to eat! Love the staff and fun atmosphere!

  21. Denis Shulepov

Great service. Interesting and creative menu. Great food and drinks. Gluten free options. I’m definitely coming back.

  22. Bernie Hurlbut

We had a celebratory dinner with one of our kids and her parents as well, their choice as they live in the area and love visiting Anacortes and A-Town Bistro! It was awesome! Food is cooked out in the open, so you can smell and savor what everyone else is enjoying as well. Our service was excellent, energetic, informative, attentive, and just plain old FUN! Yes, prices might be weekly prohibitive, but it’s worth it.

  23. Thomas Rasinen

    Excellent service and salmon 👍👍

  24. Matt Andrews

    Best food in Anacortes

  25. McTy

Probably the most surprisingly delicious meal I have had in the area. Definitely order a drink, sit, relax and enjoy the company you have brought with you. THEN order food and enjoy. You could probably get away with ordering starters and share, especially if you have a group or are meeting someone new. Regardless, experiment with food flavors and enjoy yourself.

  26. Angela Musumeci

Quaint space, amazing food and great staff. Definitely make reservations and don’t skip the paella!

  27. Brent Vanderwielen

Quaint, fine dining restaurant in a harbortown. Small but exquisite menu with a good wine selection. Highly recommend reservations.

  28. Ghislaine Castle

Came here in 2019 and had the best clam chowder I’ve ever put in my face. Been dreaming of it ever since, so when we were coming back into town, I didn’t hesitate to make a reservation. It was everything I remembered it to be! Amazing chowder, delicious drinks, fantastic dessert. They do it all! If you have room to share an appetizer, I recommend the squid.

  29. Jonathan Detwiler

By far one of the best restaurants in Anacortes! Service and food quantity are exceptional! Stay at the Majestic inn & cross the street for dinner here. Perfect weekend retreat!

  30. B Q

They had my favorite beer from Colorado on tap. Service was great!

  31. Max Power

Best restaurant in Anacortes by far. Locally sourced ingredients, fantastic cocktails and great service. The made to order clam chowder is a stand out dish, but you can’t really go wrong with any option.

  32. Germaine Kornegay

It just doesn’t get any better than A Town! Wow! The food is unreal! I wished I could try everything on the menu, but it turns out the duck l’orange was sheer perfection! We also had the scallop appetizer… amazing sauce! Hazelnut torte for dessert. The Tinderbox was so yummy off the cocktail list. Of course, the service was great too.

  33. rob hanson

Creative and expertly executed menu with a professional staff in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. My favorite restaurant within 100 miles!

  34. Neil Berg

Amazing food, super friendly people. Cozy evening atmosphere.

  35. Brad Rand

    Always a great experience

  36. Elise M (Ellie97)

Amazing food and service! Very welcoming environment and great spot for a fancier meal out.

Table ordered a variety from the menu:
Charcuterie board was delish. We selected a honey ricotta, cocktail onions, sourdough bread, salami and really enjoyed it. You can mix and match as you want

French onion soup was tasty but it would be a big portion to have along with an entree. Maybe consider sharing.

Paella for two was delicious. I would say it’s able to serve three easily. Plus if you get an appetizer with it you will leave full.

Patatas a la brava had a considerable amount of potatoes and very tasty sauces. Would recommend sharing.

Scallop crudo was delish. It has a citrusy flavor that’s refreshing.

Skagit valley burger hits the spot. Good for pickier eaters but would recommend venturing out and trying one of the other plates on the menu.

Egg nog crème brûlée was a good way to end the meal. Egg nog flavor didn’t overpower the dessert.

If you are looking to have coffee at the end of your meal just be aware that the French press they bring to the table makes around four cups and not single servings.

  37. Bob Williams

We had clam chowder with whole, in shell clams. The broth was rich cream and flavorful.

  38. Oleg Moskalensky

Nice place, good food although not exceptional. A bit pricey, but not excessively so. The service was excellent.
